In the gospel reading this weekend Jesus says these words: "Do not be afraid; just have faith." Mark 5:36. The dictionary defines 'fear' as "an emotional reaction to a perceived threat of evil to our well-being." Fear, then, is an emotional reaction. We can be afraid of things that are not actually evil, even though they might be perceived as such. That which we fear could actually help us grow in faith. In other words, when we have fear, we feel as though we are not becoming all that Jesus wants us to be. Of what should you be afraid? Be afraid of not becoming all that Jesus wants you to be. I am talking about fear because in our daily encounter with each other and with Jesus, we are called to be more involved with what the Lord brings our way. So use your faith to overcome fear. Two things:

1. We accompany Jesus by producing fruits in his garden.

God has planted a seed of faith in us and therefore He is the one who makes it grow. The growth is not up to us, rather we create an atmosphere where God can find His dwelling in us.

2.We accompany Jesus together as a community.

In my stay here with you, we have journeyed together knowing that there is always something good that God does each day with us. As a family, we open our homes and hearts to people from all over while at the same time knowing together as a community we lift each other up. Thank you for confirming my faith in the community of MHNJ. You have made

me a better person and a strong believer in the strength of being united in Christ. We celebrated together the sacraments and we shall continue to celebrate as a family of God moving forward. Thank you for the friendships and gifts with which you showered me. I look back and feel happy to have joined this vibrant community. You went out of your way with love to welcome me and journey with me. I will surely miss each one of you. Keep me in your prayers.

Welcome Father Frank We have a great shepherd who was appointed to us. Father Frank comes to us from Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor where he has served as a Parochial Vicar for the past 6 years. His other Pastoral assignments in the Diocese of St. Petersburg include: serving

as a Judge on the Diocesan Tribunal, and as one of the Spiritual Directors in the Permanent Deaconate Ministry. He visited with me several times since his appointment and in every instance he showed nothing but the love to serve the people of God in Most Holy Name of Jesus. Continue to grow with him and know that he brings many other gifts that will enrich each one of you. Thank you for welcoming him. May the good Lord keep you well and let us remain united in prayers.

Love, Padre George

Farewell Dear Friends

Most Holy Name of Jesus.

Happy Independence day weekend, everyone! We will not be having our WAY meeting this week to allow our youth and their families to spend this time together. We will be back next week for lots of fun! Thank you and God Bless! We've had quite a blast this summer in WAY. Our games have helped us get

to know new members of the group and strengthen relationships that were already formed, all while getting closer to Christ. We are fast approaching on our Steubenville trip. We ask for your continued prayers and God Bless! Clari

Las mujeres de Most Holy Name Of Jesus
