MOSQUITOES Laid one at a time or attached together to form “rafts” that can float on the surface of the water. Most eggs hatch within 48 hours when they are exposed to water. EGG STAGE ONE Lives in the water and comes to the surface to breathe. They shed their skins four times, growing larger after each molt.
