The Future of Plant-wide control for Power Generation

Over a century of power generation has elapsed in the United States, and as such the industry has witnessed the development of technology used to both generate and control. However, this evolution has not occurred in a linear fashion. Due to the lifespan requirement of large investment capital projects, the expectation has required longevity of the operational plant, therefore the equipment is also required to have a long life. That is the reason today you will find DCS control systems that have not changed much in decades controlling the nations power generation stations, with little or no thought to change technology. The tide is changing. Value engineering solutions, cost control and protection from obsolescence are driving owners to re-think the control system strategy for a plant. Owners want intelligence, agility, and flexibility to respond and change quickly, the future therefore heralds a different approach. Find out about this trend that is promising to bring change to what is considered the root to industryQ. The generation of Power using PlantPAx
