The Sunday-school teachers of St. Francis Church were tendered a dinner party recently by the pastor. Rev. Father Conlan, at the Day Home on Powell street. The dinner was served in the dining ball, which bad been profusely decorated with ferns and sweet peas. After me dinner a short and interesting programme was presented. Father Conlan, in a few well- chosen remarks, thanked the young ladies for their assistance duilng the past year and ex- pressed the hope that their next reunion would find them in as good health and spirits as they were then. The Western Addition Literary and Social Club held Is s monthly entertainment at Odd Fellows' Hall last Wednesday evening, and, if one may judge by tbe appearance of the bouse, there was uoi even standing room. The dramas that have heretofore been presented were tem- porarily shelved, and a minstrel entertainment substituted. It was a new Idea to introduce minstrels in the club, and It seemed very bard for ibe audience to get used to It. The first part rather surprised the audience, as they did not anticipate anything so clever and enter- taining. The company was so excellent that the audi- ence did not hesitate to applaud its dialogues and gaps as the occasion called for. Eugene Beauce, who shook the bones, is one of the cleverest amateur minstrels In San Francisco, aud was ably seconded by Thomas Eggert. who whirled tlie tambourine. One of the features of the evening was a Chinese orchestra, which was specially engaged and appeared undrr the personal supervision of E. J. Cater. The after- piece, a negro farce entitled •'What shall 1 Take?" proved very entertaining. Next month, however, they will be back to their regular style of programme; and it Is rumored about the club that George Muliiu will make his first appeaiance In a new farce. The club members, as well as his friends, wish him success. When thebride's cake was cut Miss Thompson securedthe money in her portion, Miss Hilda Mac-Donald received the ring and Samuel Bell Me-Kee obtained the thimble. Thus, their futureswere disposed of. As the bride left the house'she divided her bouquet Into five parts, and, as Ithey weie cast at her maids. Miss Ethel Cohencaught the piece that held the ring, so, ofeouise, she willbe man led soon. The eveningwas made a most delightfulone for all present.

Dr.and Mrs. Danneit will travel around thecoast for a couple of weei<9 and then return toternslde for a while, alter which they will goto Victoria, B. C, aud gradually travel east-ward to New Haven. The wedding presentswere numerous aud ofmuch value.

Father Conlan, in a few well-chosen remarks, thanked the young ladies fortheir assistance duilng the past year and ex-pressed the hope that their next reunion wouldfind them in as good health and spirits as theywere then.

ENTERTAINMENTS.The Western Addition Literary and Social

Club held Iss monthly entertainment at OddFellows' Hall last Wednesday evening, and, ifone may judge by tbe appearance of the bouse,there was uoi even standing room. The dramasthat have heretofore been presented were tem-porarily shelved, and a minstrel entertainmentsubstituted. Itwas a new Idea to introduceminstrels in the club, and It seemed very bardfor ibe audience to get used to It. The firstpart rather surprised the audience, as they didnot anticipate anything so clever and enter-taining.

The company was so excellent that the audi-ence did not hesitate to applaud its dialoguesand gaps as the occasion called for. EugeneBeauce, who shook the bones, is one of thecleverest amateur minstrels InSan Francisco,aud was ably seconded by Thomas Eggert. whowhirled tlie tambourine. One of the featuresof the evening was a Chinese orchestra, whichwas specially engaged and appeared undrr thepersonal supervision of E. J. Cater. The after-piece, a negro farce entitled •'What shall 1Take?" proved very entertaining.

Next month, however, they will be back totheir regular style of programme; and itIsrumored about the club that George Muliiuwillmake his first appeaiance Inanew farce. Theclub members, as well as his friends, wish himsuccess.
