Our students love the fun activities we offer, we have a colouring in competition and raffles. Also please remember all students will need an Easter hat for the parade on Thursday 24th March 2016. Remember, it is not a mufti day. Students wear their school uniform. Classes will resume as normal after the picnic lunch on the oval. Thank you for your support! Our Stage 3 classes are really leading the way, with both 6M and 6E already earning four Class of the Week awards each. It is great to see our senior students setting an example in both the classroom and the playground. Many Year 6 students have also accepted challenges by taking on the role of Playground Monitors, joining the orchestra and putting their hands up to participate in Public Speaking later in the term. Keep up the great work Year 6! Hopefully new parents will feel welcome to come to the Annual General Meeting of the P&C tonight at 7.00 pm in the 3-6 staffroom. It is an opportunity to become involved in your child's education, something I encourage all parents to do. “The world is run by those who turn up” is a saying that politician Tony Windsor has used for many years and I believe it’s a very good basis for most things. Too often in this day of “Cyber rage” and the “Twitter verse” people have so much to say but when it comes to fronting up to do something more than complaining or groaning we are all found wanting. It often is easier to sit on the couch and type than it is to do something positive to change a situation. As it is a time for the changing of the guard, I wish to acknowledge the previous work of Sam Maiden, our President, who finishes tonight after several years. Thanks Sam, it’s a testament to you that there is someone willing to become the next President and we know you will assist them as they settle in to their role. Thank you Sam. Chisholm Bloch

5S Assembly Item The students in 5S did their Assembly Item two weeks ago. Aditya and Ashwin sang a song from India called Thaliva. It had the Bollywood sound. Then the class danced and bounced on a tumble track, borrowed from the Gymnastics Club. The whole class started with dancing to Na Na, then the girls took over dancing to the “Bounce” song. The boys came back on stage being cheeky and shaking their bottoms to the “Whip It” song. They then exited the stage doing flips!

5S are very creative and enjoy the performing arts.

“Proud Morgies learning Together”

A big congratulations to Emilie Black for her

generous and thoughtful donation of her own hair to

the Variety Club Wigs for Kids. Emilie, who is now

sporting a gorgeous short hair style, decided that she

would like to have her long locks cut off and donate

it to those less fortunate than her self.

Good on you, Emilie!

MSPS Reading Challenge

Fundraiser 2016

Starts Monday 29th February ends Thursday 24th March

Today begins week 3 of the MSPS Leap into Reading Challenge! How many books/blocks have you read so far?

Have you reached your SILVER target yet?

Students can log in directly to the PRC website (http://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc) using their Department of Education username and password. If you are unaware of your username and/or password, please contact your class teacher and ask for your Student Portal username and/or password.

Our school library has all the PRC books listed so you can search our library database to find books to read for the challenge.

You can use the same books for the MSPS Leap Into Reading Challenge if you want to.

To find the book lists, go to your student portal, click on Oliver Library, then the Orbit icon.

Click on the search button, then the Lists button, the type in ‘Premier’s Reading Challenge’ and you will see a drop down menu for the lists you need.
