a number of readily available print motifs and we are also your partner for the development of your individual design. Comfort is provided by gentle, effective care and for that reason, Sandler wipes substrates attracted large numbers of visitors. From baby care to industrial cleaning: They may be lightweight, conserving resources, and they are soft to gently care for sensitive skin; or they may be particularly sturdy and bulky to easily remove even stubborn dirt. With their excellent lotion handling, they are the friend in need. The latest Sandler wipes substrates for baby care were of particular interest: soft and bulky for gentle cleaning, yet featuring a low basis weight for less raw material input. And again emphasising environmental protection, Sandler presented new wipes substrates made of degradable synthetic fibres. These textiles combine the properties of synthetic nonwovens with advantages of fibres from natural sources. Together with raw material supplier Lenzing AG, Sandler showcased wipes substrates made of EUROCEL™ — a fibre manufactured in Europe from base materials of European origin. This „European Innovation“ represents the reduction of CO2-emissions through shorter delivery distances for raw materials. With EUROCEL™ wipes become more bulky, are more stable when wet and dry out less quickly. Technical progress included At this year's INDEX, nonwovens for the construction industry were in high demand at the Sandler booth. sandler fibercomfort® nonwovens for roof insulation, which received the INDEX14 Award, was of particular interest. Apart from the nonwovens which proved their functionality at the booth, Sandler also put its product range of nonwovens for technical applications in filtration, technical insulation and automotive applications on display. The latter, in particular, were at the centre of attention at this year’s INDEX. EDANA had organised an Automotive Forum within the scope of the fair, featuring various lectures which focused on applications for nonwovens in vehicles, but also on their contribution to sustainability. Gerhard Klier was among the contributors and shed some light on the recyclability of polyester nonwovens for the automotive industry. Single-polymer materials are easily re-processable and can be put to new use, supporting closed material cycles and conserving valuable resources.
