And really, really big. Moonlight Basin was conceived with the idea that not only can the civilized and natural worlds coexist, they are one and the same.

Moonlight Basin serves as a vital link in a vast wilderness chain by connecting two major parts of the 260,000-acre Lee Metcalf Wilderness: the Spanish Peaks in the northeast and the Taylor-Hilgard preserve in the south. These, in turn, are surrounded by 3 million acres of national forest, and ultimately joined with the 20-million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The result is breathtaking views in every direction.

Moonlight Basin’s connection to the wilderness is not just physical. It’s philosophical. Preserving the things that make Moonlight Basin special is in our DNA. The more we protect, the more there is to enjoy — open spaces with unobstructed views, trailheads leading to tall forests and pristine alpine lakes, places where elk, deer and moose far outnumber humans — an ideal prospect for anyone with an adventurous spirit.

of the powder. And how there is nothing like the legendary “cold smoke” trailing behind you on a Montana morning under a clear blue sky. They’ll

talk about first tracks. And how, on the best days, there’s not another sound to be heard or another human being to be seen. Here in Moonlight Basin, in the heart of Big Sky, you’re going to have a lot of best days ever.

On certain special days, your membership to Moonlight Club gets you on the lifts and into the

powder an hour earlier than the public. Turning the entire mountain into your own private stash.

APRÈS-SKI NEVER FELT SO GOOD After a day on the mountain or in the backcountry, Moonlight Lodge is the place to regroup and relax. Refuel at

Moonlight Tavern with live music, homemade comfort food, and local beers

on tap. Moonlight Club members can recharge in the family game room with

a round of pool or a game of pop-a-shot. Or soothe weary muscles in the fitness

center’s pool and hot tub.

AN ALP RISING AMONG THE ROCKIESLone Mountain is a gift to skiers and riders. The combination of snow, slope and natural beauty are, well, the perfect storm. Soaring 11,166 feet above sea level, it looms large and solitary above the tree line, presenting a massive facade reminiscent of a Swiss Alp. And now that Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort are united under one pass, you can ski 5,800 acres and over 4,000 feet of vertical, with just about every kind of terrain you can imagine, from 45-degree pitches at the top of the tram, to bumps and jumps, to powdery glades, and miles of groomers. In fact, you can find an amazing variety of skiing without ever leaving Moonlight Basin.

MOONLIGHT BASIN is a mountain community energized by outdoor adventure and the endless array of experiences that come with life at the foot of Lone Mountain. Life here is built around all that Montana has to offer: skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and a club that offers activities for the whole family. However the spirit moves you, it will find a home here.

Moonlight Lodge is the social heart of the community. The site of seasonal events. A place to gather before or after a big day on the mountain or in the backcountry. To have a bite to eat, go swimming, or simply to relax on the deck and enjoy the view.

Silvertip Residences are located near Moonlight Lodge with all the advantages that entails. They offer effortless ski access and are designed to take advantage of spectacular views from Lone Mountain to the Spanish Peaks.

The Timbers, an enclave of ten elegant homes, is surrounded by mature trees for natural privacy. They offer great ski access with the Wildwood trail and Stagecoach lift just steps away. And access to the rest of the community with hiking and biking trails, including one that takes you to Ulery’s Lake.

Lake Cabins are set among the pines, sprinkled around Ulery’s Lake, and surrounded by big nature. They are just footsteps from the Wildwood ski trail, Stagecoach lift and the water, offering exhilarating ways to enjoy the mountains all year long.

Ulery’s Lake is home to the native westslope cutthroat trout. Of course, at Moonlight Basin, you’re also close to blue ribbon fly fishing on the Gallatin and Madison Rivers, teeming with acrobatic rainbows and feisty browns.

The new golf clubhouse is an innovative example of “mountain contemporary” architecture, featuring a living roof and open, indoor-outdoor areas designed to welcome you and your friends for drinks or dining.

Ulery’s Lake is what fun looks like. The dock, the sandy swimming beach and the new treehouse village invite you and your kids to make the most of those long,

warm, summer days. Here, you can go fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, mountain biking … you can even try your hand

at 3D archery. And when winter comes to Ulery’s Lake, the fun turns into ice skating, Nordic skiing and sledding.

DAYS YOU WISH WOULD NEVER END

CAMP MOONLIGHT is where you wish you could have spent your summers as a kid. It’s an experience that mixes adventure with education to teach important life skills. Your kids don’t just go horseback riding, they learn horse tacking and horsemanship. They don’t just practice archery, they learn focus and control. The list of activities is long, the teaching opportunities infinitely longer. Because good things happen outside.

MOUNTAIN BIKING is a great way for you to get around in Moonlight Basin, with trails linking key destinations throughout the community and connecting to the greater Big Sky trail network. Miles of trails have been completed and more are coming — including fluid singletrack designed by a master trail building team for mountain bikers of all abilities.

A GOOD WALK UNSPOILED

THE RESERVE, our newly completed 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is a championship course with long, challenging holes and spectacular views up and down the valley. But when your drive is temporarily interrupted by a herd of elk “playing through” … and when your foursome takes a long break on the porch of the back nine cabin just to enjoy the scenery … you know it’s more than a game.
