God Bless,
Jessica LeeseExecutive Director
On March 13, 2014, I was able to attend the Grand Ledge Right to Life Annual Soup Supper and was blessed to hear speaker, Lisa Gigliotti, J.D., talk about coraggio, or courage. Through her struggles, Lisa has been an inspiration to others and encouragement to those who long for a sense of hope. Courage is defined as “the state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.” The Bible adds an important element to the definition- trust and faith in God. Sometimes fear is our normal human reaction when we are faced with a seemingly impossible decision. However, we must not allow fear to paralyze us and take no action at all. We have to recognize that we cannot go at it alone. God is all powerful and has promised to never leave or forsake us. With trust and faith in God, we can confidently make decisions with courage and conviction. There is so much we can accomplish as a community when we put our fears aside, have courage, and put our faith and trust in our Heavenly Father. Help us today to make a difference in the lives of the women and babies we serve by making a monetary donation, becoming a volunteer, donating baby items for our residents or attic ministry, or by praying for our ministry. We thank you for all of your support. This ministry is blessed in so many ways! (Left: Lisa Gigliotti, L.D.)
“He feared man so little, because he feared God so much.” -Inscription on the memorial monument of John Laird Mair Lawrence
Kelly* came to us on May 13th. Her and the twins are doing fabulous! Kelly continues to look for full-time employment while she picks up as many shifts as she can at her current job. She is still working on plans for completing her GED
and was recently able to lease a vehicle. She is planning to move out in April and is just working out what apartment
complex she will be moving to. The twins are now 29 weeks old and are doing wonderful! Each has a personality of
their own and put smiles on all they come in contact with! Please continue to keep Kelly and the boys in your prayers as they prepare to move to the next chapter of their lives!

Liz moved into Hannah’s House on October 25th. She has completed the CNA portion of her Career Quest program
and is working on the PCT portion now. She has three weeks to go, and then she will begin looking for full-
time employment. She continues to work with Sparrow’s Nest and is looking into permanent housing options. A decision regarding her housing plan will be made in the
near future. Jackson is doing great, as well! He is currently 10 weeks old, developing well, and gaining weight as he should! Between studying, practicing for her road test, caring for her newborn, and spending as much time as she can with her two older children, Liz keeps herself
very busy! Please keep Liz, Jackson, and the two older children in your prayers as they continue on this journey!
Genevieve moved into Hannah’s House on January 28th. Her health is improved a great deal though
she is working with doctors to discover the root causes of some of her health issues. She is
diligently searching for full-time employment and is working on a permanent housing plan. Baby Benjamin is doing fantastic and is now 7 weeks
old! Please keep Genevieve and Benjamin in your prayers as they adjust to this new life together!
Updates!
Hannah’s House is currently seeking a part-time House Manager. Work hours are from 6:00 PM Friday through 6:00 PM Sunday every other week, to begin May 23, 2014. The preferred candidate will be a mature, Christian woman who can act as a “mother” and mentor to the women who live at Hannah’s House. It is imperative that she has a wealth of compassion for vulnerable pregnant women and small babies, while maintaining a spirit of accountability. She is required to cook one meal during the shift (Rachel Ray not required) and attend to light housekeeping chores not already assigned to the residents. It is preferred she have her own car and insurance with a good driving record. This position is ministerial in nature, not high-paying, so it would be helpful if the candidate is looking to do ministry or mission work. Please send a cover letter and resume to [email protected], or mail to P.O. Box 14013,
Lansing, MI 48901.
