Monthly Update June 2016
CONGRATULATIONS! The New Horizons com-
munity is fortunate to have such responsible, bright,
and talented students on our staff. Please join us in
congratulating (pictured clockwise, starting with the
top left) Elizabeth Ryan, Mollie Fraser, Jimmy
Tortorici, Katt Carpenter, Nick Thomas, and Joe
Crowley-Gratton. Nick graduated from Providence
College, and the others are recent Woburn High
School graduates. Katt and Joe will attend
Salem State University, Mollie — Syracuse Univer-
sity, Elizabeth — Saint Anselm College, and Jimmy
will join the United States Army.
We wish them the very best in their future
endeavors and thank them for their dedicated
service to New Horizons!
MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE:
Thank you to all residents and family
members who joined us for our annual
Resident Memorial Service on May 12.
Nearly 65 people came together to
remember and celebrate the lives of former
New Horizons residents who profoundly
touched our community. Reverend Mary
Bettencourt, accompanied by Sounds of
Grace, led this poignant service that
recognizes and celebrates the very strong
bonds we all share as members of the
extended New Horizons family.
NEW RESIDENT: Barbara McElhinney, Suite 445, joins us from her home in Melrose. The
mother of six children, Barbara spent much of her adult life living in Winchester and worked
for many years at Winchester Indoor Tennis Center as secretary and bookkeeper. She is the
wife of the late Winchester Fire Chief Bob McElhinney and sister-in-law of resident Jean
McElhinney.
We extend a warm welcome to Barbara and wish her much happiness in her new home.
NEW STAFF: Please welcome Allyson Giso, Brendan Maye, and Luther Thiogene to our dining room
crew. We are very pleased to have them join our team!

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities.
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew his masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it—Dad.
Happy Father’s Day!
