Awareness Build-up to Adolescent Girls– November, 2015

Awareness Build-up to Antenatal mothers - November, 2015

Telemedicine Program – November, 2015

Awareness classes were held for antenatal mothers. In these classes the doctors and the social workers talk about healthy habits, what to avoid, what to do, how to take care of themselves and where to go for help. Most of the mothers in the area are under age and has almost no education, so these classes are helping them to take charge of their own body, own life. The goal of awareness classes for antenatal mothers are to decrease illness and death of mothers, newborns, and children of slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Awareness classes were arranged for the adolescent girls in the Health Clinic. Main objects of these classes are to make adolescents girls aware about the different issues of adolescent period, help them understand the physical and psychological changes they are under-going, basic health & hygiene education, counseling and teaching them about problems associated with early marriage and making them aware about their rights.

DCI has been operating telemedicine service for the slum dwellers since January. Through this service DCI

aims to provide specialist health services from US doctors to the underprivileged people of Bangladesh. Dr.

Azizul Hoque, a renowned cardiologist from Atlanta, Georgia took the leadership on behalf of DCI for this

project. . On November 2015 a total of 12 patients received treatment from USA through telemedicine center.
