tion. We end up Finalist and winners of the

award "Inspiration". The Chinese team

that we assist won the best position in the

ranking among beginners times, which

made us extremely happy.

Before we go back to Brazil, we

spent a few days in Hong Kong and had

the opportunity to know Macau, it was al-

so colonized by the Portuguese.

We just have to thank everyone who sup-

ported our team in this unique and won-

derful experience we had the opportunity

to participate, we could never imagine

that one day we would be helping young

people across the world. Mission comple-

ted! Or better... Mission INITIATED! We

will continue to inspire and help young pe-

ople all the globe!

the city and the next morning we ride bo-

at at Li River, and set off towards

Yangshou, where we visited some typical

places as West Street and caves. Mo-

reover, we watched a Impression Liu San-

jie presentation organized by the same

producer of the opening show of the Bei-

jing Olympics in 2008, among many other

activities that were scheduled by the com-

petition with the intention of introducing

China to the international teams.

Back in Shenzhen, we were ready

to compete. The competition was atten-

international teams, there were three

days of competition where we could teach

a little more about the Chinese competi-

experience because we had

contact with many young peo-

Participation in FLL course at SESI Porto Alegre

In early October we were participating in the Judges Training course at SESI Porto Alegre of FLL Robotics

Tournament.

The FLL - FIRST Lego League - is one of the modalities of the FIRST competition, the entity that organizes

the tournament we participate every year, for children aged 10 to 16 who are elementary and high school stu-

dents. This kind of competition uses Lego parts for the mounting robots, training skills as programming and stra-

tegy, because this game has many different rules.

The competition will be in November in Brazil, and this course was a great opportunity to qualify to par-

ticipate as volunteers in this great competition that will take place in FIERGS Porto Alegre.

FIRST is an acronym for Inspiration and

Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST was

founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest

and participation in science and technology. Based

in Manchester, NH, the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit

public charity designs accessible, innovative pro-

grams that motivate young people to pursue edu-

cation and career opportunities in science, techno-

logy, engineering, and math, while building self-

confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

The varsity Sport for the MindTM, FRC

combines the excitement of sport with the ri-

gors of science and technology. Under strict

rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams

of 25 students or more are challenged to raise

funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork.

Currently, the regional completions happen in

United States, Mexico, Canada, Israel, and

Australia.
