World Hindi Day
On the occasion of World Hindi Day (Vishwa Hindi Diwas), Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy organized a Quiz Competition on "Hindi Grammar and Literature" at Girls High School, Kandy.
20 Teams from various schools participated in the Competition. The following are the winners of the Quiz Competition:-
First Prize - Little Flower Convent School, BandarwelaSecond Prize - Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, KurunegalaThird Prize - Badi-ud-din College, Kandy
On the occasion of Republic Day of India, a Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at the residence of Assistant High Commissioner at 0900 hrs.

Mr. M. Rameshwaran graced the occasion, representatives from Tamil, Sinhala and Muslim Traders Association, several members of Indian community also graced the occasion.Assistant High Commissioner read the Speech of the Presiden t of India.

On the occasion of th67 Republic Day of India
Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy organized a Dinner Reception at Grand Kandyan Hotel, Kandy.
Hon'ble Governor of Sabaragamuwa, Hon'ble Governor of North Western Province, Chief Minister of Central Province, District Secretary of Kandy, Senior DIG of Kandy and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
A cultural programme was organized by AHCI, Kandy showcasing Folk Dances of various States of India which was followed by Kandyan Dance of Sri Lanka.

Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy celebrated Pravasi Bhartiya Divas on 9th J a n u a r y 2 0 1 6 a t E a r l ' s Regency Hotel, Kandy.
Assistant High Commissioner, Ms. Radha Venkataraman welcomed and thanked the guests for joining the global event of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas.
The Theme of the event was Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
A Power Point Presentation on SMEs sector and documentaries on 'Make in India' were presented.The guests were entertained by a scintillating instrumental musical performance by Mr. Pamalka and his associates.
