The MONTANANThe Montanan, the award-winning magazine of The University of Montana, is published three times a year and distributed to more than 82,000 households of alumni, friends, and supporters throughout the state, nation, and world. The magazine informs readers about what’s going on at the University and inspires loyalty that will keep alumni and friends connected to UM their entire lives.

The Montanan provides interesting feature stories and departments that are well-balanced and intriguing for younger and older readers alike. Read by a wide audience including alumni, donors, legislators, faculty, administrators, and friends of the University, each issue of the Montanan brims with content. Every edition includes a campus feature, an alumni profile, and a trend piece that delves into the arts, entertainment, business, music, or sports. In addition, the magazine also includes campus news in “Around the Oval,” updates from our alums in the popular “About Alumni” section, and historical looks at campus in “Artifacts.”

Why shOuLD I ADVeRTIse IN The MONTANAN ?Circulation: Delivered to more than 82,000 households (many with multiple alums in residence who read the magazine), the Montanan has the largest circulation of any magazine produced in Montana. With new graduates added each year, the readership continually grows. It is published in January, May, and September.

Education: Because Montanan readers are graduates of The University of Montana, our readers are college-educated and most are in their prime income-earning years.

Location: Montanan readers either currently reside or at one time lived in Montana and have an inherent interest in the state’s products and services.

Value: Advertisers in the Montanan pay far less to reach more customers. Multiple-issue advertising rates are significantly lower than any other Montana-based magazine.

Prominence: With compelling content and fetching design, the Montanan has received numerous awards, including a prestigious Gold Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and a Silver Award from Higher Ed Marketing.

Presence: Each issue is published online at www.umt.edu/montanan and www.issuu.com/montanan.

PROuD TO Be A GRIZA popular theme running through the pages of the Montanan is Montana pride—for the University, Griz Nation, and Big Sky Country. In our latest readership survey, we found that most alums say the Montanan is their No. 1 source for receiving information about and staying connected to UM. If your aim as an advertiser is to reach a large, college-educated, higher-income audience, you couldn’t ask for a better medium than the Montanan.
