There was once an enourmous city and in that city was an enourmous park and

in that park there was a little girl called Red who was about to meet a very special

friend.

[Blank]

Red loved playing in the beautiful white snow of the park.

Her mummy watched from the bench “Don’t go to far” she called.

She wanted to show her mummy but when she

looked for her she was gone.

Where was she?

Red was making a snow monster today. It looked

rather good when she had finished it.

She went looking for her but there was no answer.

Soon, Red was completely lost.

And she began to think something very strange was following her.

Oh no! It was a Monster! And Red ran away as fast as

she could.

But the monster didn’t want to hurt her. He just seemed lonely.

Perhaps he just wanted a friend?

So she gave the monster a big

hug and he was much happier.

Then she had an idea; they could play

together in the City.

So they ran and played over the rooftops together all night.

When they were hungry they ate whatever they wanted. Monster liked eating the big signs of

Hamburgers and Donuts.

At bedtime, they found a story to listen to. But the story made the monster sad again. He was missing

his mother.

Let’s find your mother said Red. So they called together for her. ROAR!

They called ROAR!

And from far away something

answered back

But it wasn’t his mother. It was a mother bird and her three babies. They

were stuck.

And the birds flew away together. They

were very happy.

So the monster and Red set them free.

Red and the Monster tried again. ROAR! they called

ROAR!

And from far away something answered

back

But it wasn’t his mother.

It was a huge mother whale who was crying because she missed her babies.

So Red and the Monster set her free and she swam to her children.

They were all so happy.

But they still hadn’t found his mother so they tried again. ROAR! they called

ROAR! And from far away

something answered back

But it wasn’t his mother, this time it was the circus

animals. Their circus was on fire and they needed

help

So Red and Monster set them free.

The animals were very happy.

But when the people saw the Monster they were scared.

They sent helicopters to

catch him.

And they put him in a cage on an island far away.

the monster had given up all hope.

People came to point and laugh at the monster and the

monster grew very sad.

When Red finally found him

ROAR they called together ROAR!

And from far away, something answered back.

But Red didn’t give up. She called and called. And one by one, the circus animals and the whales and the birds all came to help.

ROOOOOOAAAAR! It was monsters mother. She had been looking for him

everywhere and was very pleased to find him.

She took them in her arms, through

the enormous city, through the

enormous park to a secret place no

one knew..

It was called Monster Park.

It was where the monster lived and they were very happy to have their little monster safe

back home.

They celebrated with a huge party and Red

was their guest of honour.

Eventually it was time for Red to say

goodbye.

She would miss her monster.

But that wasn’t the end…

Reds mother was calling her home.

At last Red ran to her mother and gave

her the most enourmous hug in

the world.

When she turned to thank her monster he

had vanished.

And though she looked everyday she never found

him ever again.

Until one snowy and wintery night from out of her

bedroom window

She heard a ROAR!

END  

So the monster and Little Red set the whale free and it swam to it’s

children.

They were very happy
