Allah Himself bears witness that there is no God but He; andlikewise do the angels and the men possessed of knowledge.

Your God is one God: there is no God but the All-Beneficent and All-Merciful Allah.

Say: He is Allah, the One and Unique; Allah, Who is in need of noneand of Whom all are in need; He neither begot any nor was Hebegotten, and none is comparable to Him.

Only one God Why?

Allah is the only true God because He is the Creator.

Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet)not realize that the heavens and the earth were joined together asone united piece, then We tore them apart, and We made everyliving being out of water? Will they, then, not believe (that Wecreated all this)? And We placed firm mountains on earth lest itshould sway with them, and We made wide paths in it that they mayfind their way; and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet theyturn away from these Signs. It is He Who created the night and theday, and the sun and the moon. Each of them is floating in its orbit.

Allah it is Who made the night so that you may seek repose in it, andmade the day radiant. Surely Allah is Most Bounteous to people; butmost people do not give thanks. Allah (Who bestowed all thesefavours upon you) is your Lord, the Creator of everything. There is

no god but He. Whence are you, then, being led astray? Thus it isonly those who had denied Allah's Signs that were led astray.

Allah it is Who made the earth a dwelling place for you and madethe sky a canopy, Who shaped you and shaped you exceedinglywell and gave you good things as sustenance. That is Allah, yourLord; blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Universe. He is the Ever-Living: there is no god but He. So call upon Him, consecrating to Himall your devotion. All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of thewhole Universe. Say, (O Prophet): I have been forbidden to worship those besideAllah whom you call upon. (How can I worship any beside Allah)when clear Signs have come to me from my Lord and I have beencommanded to surrender to Allah, the Lord of the Universe?"

It is He Who fashions you in the wombs as He wills. There is no Godbut He ; the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

He creates you in your mothers' wombs, giving you one form afteranother in threefold depths of darkness. That, then, is Allah, yourLord. His is the kingdom. There is no god but He. So, whence are youbeing turned astray?

Do they not see Our handiwork: We created for them cattle whichthey own? We have subjected the cattle to them so that some of them they ride and eat the flesh of others. They derive a variety of benefits and drinks from them. Will they, then, not give thanks?

(And yet) They set up deities apart from Allah, hoping that they willreceive help from them. Those deities can render them no help. Yetthese devotees act as though they were an army in waiting for them. Let not their words grieve you. Surely We know all things aboutthem, what they conceal and what they reveal.

Truly it is Allah Who causes the grain and the fruit-kernel to sprout. Hebrings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from theliving. Such is Allah. So whither are you tending in error? It is He Whocauses the dawn to split forth, and has ordained the night for repose,and the sun and the moon for reckoning time. All this is determined byAllah the Almighty, the All-Knowing. It is He Who has made for you thestars that you may follow the right direction in the darkness of the landand the sea. We have indeed spelled out signs for the people who haveknowledge. It is He Who created you out of a single being, and appointedfor each of you a time-limit and a resting place. We have indeed spelledout Our signs for those who can understand. And it is He Who has sentdown water from the heavens, and thereby We have brought vegetationof every kind, and out of this We have brought forth green foliage andthen from it close-packed ears of corn, and out of the palm-tree from the

Is there any god associated with Allah (in these tasks)?

sheath of it - thick clustered dates, hanging down with heaviness, andgardens of vines, and the olive tree, and the pomegranate - allresembling one another and yet so different. Behold their fruit whenthey bear fruit and ripen! Surely, in all this there are signs for those whobelieve. And yet, some people have come to associate the jinn with Allahin His divinity, even though it is He Who created them; and in ignorancethey impute to Him sons and daughters. He is Holy and Exalted far abovethat which they attribute to Him. He is the Originator of the heavens andthe earth. How can He have a son when He has had no mate? And He hascreated everything and He has full knowledge of all things. Such is Allah,

your Lord. There is no god but He - the Creator of all things. Serve Himalone - for it is He Who is the guardian of everything. No visions canencompass Him, even though He encompasses all visions. He is the All-Subtle, the All-Aware.The lights of clear proofs have now come to you from your Lord. Then, hewho chooses to see clearly, does so for his own good; and he whochooses to remain blind, does so to his own harm. I am not your keeper.

Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created?

Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth and sent down foryou water from the sky and then caused to grow therewith gardens fullof beauty whose trees you could never grow. Is there any god associatedwith Allah (in these tasks)?" Nay, they are a people who are veeringaway from the Right Path. Who is it Who has made the earth a place of resort, and has caused rivers to flow in its midst, and has placed upon itfirm mountains, and has placed a barrier between two masses of water?Is there any god associated with Allah (in these tasks)? Nay; but most of them do not know. Who is it Who heeds the prayers of the distressedwhen he calls out to Him and Who removes his affliction? And who is it

Who makes you vicegerents of the earth? Is there any god associatedwith Allah (in this task)? How little do you reflect! Who is it Who guidesyou through the darkness on land and sea? And Who sends winds asheralds of good tidings ahead of His Mercy? Is there any god associatedwith Allah (in this task)? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associatewith Him in His Divinity! Who is it Who creates in the first instance andthen repeats it? Who is it Who provides you with sustenance from theheavens and the earth? Is there any god associated with Allah (in these

tasks)? Say: "Bring forth your evidence, if you are truthful ".

He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and Heplaced mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvywith you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and

sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants togrow on it. Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others,apart from Allah, have created? Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doersare in manifest error.

Ask them: "Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?" Say:"Allah." Tell them: "Have you taken beside Him as your protectorsthose who do not have the power to benefit or to hurt eventhemselves?" Say: "Can the blind and the seeing be deemed equals?Or can light and darkness be deemed equals?" If that is not so, then

have those whom they associate with Allah in His Divinity evercreated anything like what Allah did so that the question of creationhas become dubious to them? Say: "Allah is the creator of everything. He is the One, the Irresistible."

Say to them (O Prophet): Have you ever seen those of yourassociates upon whom you call apart from Allah? Show me what

Is then the One Who creates like the one who does not create?

Is there any among those whom you associate with Allah in Hisdivinity who originates the creation and then repeats it?

have they created in the earth? Or do they have any partnership(with Allah) in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book so

that they have a clear proof (for associating others with Allah inHis Divinity)? Nay, what these wrong -doers promise each otheris nothing but delusion. Surely Allah holds the heavens and theearth, lest they should be displaced there, for if they weredisplaced none would be able to hold them after Him. Surely Heis Most Forbearing, Most Forgiving.

Ask them: 'Is there any among those whom you associate with Allahin His divinity who brings about the creation of all beings in the firstinstance and will then repeat it?' Tell them: 'It is Allah Who bringsabout the creation of all beings and will then repeat it. How are you , then , being misled?

And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it quakewith you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find yourway, and He has set other landmarks in the earth. And by the

Yet the people have set up, besides Him, deities, who do

not create anything but are themselves created.

stars too do people find their way. Is then the One Who createslike the one who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed?

Highly blessed is He, Who has sent down Al-Furqan, to His servant sothat it may be a warner to all mankind! He to Whom belongs the

Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth: Who has begotten no son:Who has no partner in His Kingdom: Who created each and everything and then ordained its destiny. Yet the people have set up,besides Him, deities, who do not create anything but are themselvescreated : who can neither harm nor help even themselves: who haveno power over life or death, nor can they raise up the dead .

Those whom they call upon beside Allah have created nothing;rather, they themselves are created.

O people, a parable is set forth : pay heed to it

Do they associate (with Allah in His divinity) those who can createnothing; rather, they are themselves created? They have no powerto help others nor can they help themselves .

Those whom you invoke other than Allah are servants like you. Soinvoke them and see if they answer your call , if what you claim is true .

O people, a parable is set forth: pay heed to it. Those whom you call

upon besides Allah cannot create even a fly, even if all of them cometogether to do that. And if the fly were to snatch away anythingfrom them, they would not be able to recover that from it.Powerless is the supplicant; and powerless is he to whom hesupplicates. They have not formed a true estimate of Allah. Indeed,Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.
