ORACION EN TEMPORADA DE HURACANES
Padre, todos los elementos de la naturaleza obedecen tu orden. Calma las tormentas que nos amenazan durante esta tempo-rarada de huracanes, y convierte nuestro temor de tu poder en alabanzas por tu Gloria. Amen
DECIMO-QUINTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO Jesús, a causa de su amor por los hombres, está en lucha con los fariseos. ¿Qué quieren los fariseos en vez de los beneficios de todo tipo? Prodigios. Más que buenas acciones quisieran obras estrepitosas, obras que impresionen a su inteligencia, sin tender a la conversión de sus corazones. Intentan sustituir el amor de Jesús, que apela a sus posibilidades de generosidad y de amor, por un compromiso entre dos egoísmos, a saber: que Jesús acepte, por una parte, emprender una carrera gloriosa y, por otra, que renuncie a acechar sus comodidades. Notemos que la vivacidad de las reacciones del Maestro se debe al hecho de que las malas intenciones de sus adversarios tienden a impedirle hacer el bien y a causar daño a aquellos a quienes profesa un afecto particular: los inválidos y menos favorecidos por la vida. Cuando algunos fariseos reprochan a los discípulos que arrancan espigas en día de sábado, interviene Jesús para justificar su acción: «El sábado ha sido hecho para el hombre, y no el hombre para el sábado. Porque el Hijo del hombre también es señor del sábado. Al dar esta respuesta a los sofismas que le planteaban, Jesús afirma no sólo su propia soberanía, que le permite hacer el bien en sábado, sino también el significado de esta soberanía. El sábado ha sido hecho para el hombre, y, puesto que el Mesías ha recibido todo poder sobre la humanidad, es señor de todo lo que ha sido puesto al servicio de los hombres, en especial del sábado. Es el amor a los hombres lo que rige todo, y a causa de este amor se enfrenta a los fariseos: Jesús quiere que el sábado, que había sido convertido en una institución importuna destinada a provocar oposiciones, sirva para testimoniar la bondad divina.
