GIFTING TO ST. PAUL CHURCH OR SCHOOLThere is good news if you have reached age 70 ½ and you would like to help (your parish, school, ministry). If you have an IRA, the government requires you to take out a certain amount each year and be subject to federal tax. However, the law allows you to donate this amount directly to St. Paul Church or St. Paul School and have it distributed free of federal income tax! What a wonderful opportunity for those 70 ½ to help St. Paul Church or St. Paul School. Please call your tax advisor or call Sharon at the rectory office for more information.
Easter Flower DonationsReserve your Easter lilies early.
Make your request in memory of or for a loved one by placing an envelope with names and a $10.00
donation in the collection basket by April 5th.Plants may be taken Easter Sunday after
the 9:30 AM mass.
Newman Meals for Finals Week Many of the WIU students run out of funds or meal options at the end of the semester. For a number of years, free meals have been provided to help minimize some of their stress at that time. Volunteers are needed to help serve breakfast, lunch and dinners on Monday, 5/6 through Thursday, 5/8. Please contact Sharon Bray 309-337-8243 if you are able to help in any way. Cookies or bars are also needed throughout that week. More details will be coming.
Prayer for an End to InfanticideThe U.S. Senate recently failed to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act—legislation that prohibits infanticide by ensuring that a child born alive following an attempted abortion would receive the same degree of care to preserve her or his life and health as would be given to any other child born alive at the same gestational age. Please join us in prayer for an end to infanticide: “Jesus, Lord of Life, transform the hearts of our elected leaders to recognize that infanticide is wrong and must not be tolerated. We especially pray for our Senator(s) Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth. Open his/her/their heart(s) and mind(s) to recognize and defend the precious gift of every human life.”

Greetings from St. Paul School!
The 4th Annual St. Paul Saints Short Stack Fun, Flapjack 5K and Pancake Breakfast is being held Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. As with any fundraising event, it takes many hands to make light work for all. It also takes monetary sponsorships to help cover costs of the event and be sure that as much money raised by families of the school as possible goes back into the school. We are reaching out to all members of our St. Paul Community for help in whatever way they can.Below is a list of how you can help: Giving of your time on Friday, May
3rd between the hours of Noon and 2:30 pm. Giving of your time on Saturday, May 4th between the hours of 7 am – 10 am. Donating what you can as a Monetary Sponsor to help defray the cost of the event. Pick a St. Paul student to sponsor. That amount will go towards their personal amount raised and number of raffle tickets they receive for our Prize Raffle on Friday. For every $25 a student raises, they get a raffle ticket. All tickets are put into a raffle for various prizes donated by local businesses. If you are a First Communion Prayer Partner, consider sponsoring your Prayer Partner. Run on Saturday. There is an option for everyone! You can run or walk the 5K, 1 mile, or .2 Slapjack Sprint! Registration forms are available in the Narthex on the bulletin table.
If you are interested in helping in any of the above ways or have any questions, please contact Sally Adams via Facebook, Phone - (773)299-0003 or Email [email protected] you for all your support of our school!
