It is observed that, FRPCPY of Mis SIL for MPCS V2 is showing increasing trend.It is also observed that no failures are reported for MPCS V3.

However, ELS/ER has informed that MIS SIL make MPCS V3 was provided duringMTR in Loco no. 22401/HWH. In this locomotive, it is observed that OJ is notclosing at once but DJ closes only after delay of II to 30 seconds and display showsnotch position of so" notch against actual notch position of 3211d notch. Due to theseproblems MPCS had to be replaced by ELS/HWH. Mis SIL is advised to submitdetailed investigation report to RDSa by 30.08.2016.

3. It is observed that there is only one failure of display unit, and there is improvement inits performance after completion of modification in display unit power supply for fuserating 2A to lOA fuse of f Iter card

3. Mis SIL had informed that most of 5.7.2016the CPU card failures are due tofailure of RTC battery. Mis SIL hadinformed that life of their RTCbattery is only 2.5 years, and itneeds to be periodically replaced.Life of RTC battery of Mis Medhais 8 years and that of Mis ICECPLis 10 years. Mis SIL is advised toreview the design to increase the lifeof RTC battery and submit a reportto ROSO within three months. Locosheds are advised to check thebattery voltage of RTC batteryduring TOH and replace wheneverrequired.

4. Mis SIL had informed that most of 5.7.2016the ISCU failures are due tocalibration issues. Mis SIL ISadvised to review design of sensingcurrent to find out permanentsolution and submit a report toROSO within three months.

8. Mis SIL had informed that Loco no.27114/NKJ was failing frequentlydue to false QD acting. Oninvestigation it was found that 4mm/cable was used instead ofprescribed 10 mrrr' E-beam cablefrom shunt to ISCU in BA panel foreach TM channel.All the sheds are advised to ensureprovision of prescribed 10 mm2 E-beam cable from shunt to ISCU inBA panel for each TM channel.

One cyclic check tobe carried out by MisSIL and Railways inall locomotives forensuring thatprescribed 10 mrrr' E-beam cable IS usedfrom shunt to ISCUin BA panel for eachTM channel.

While commissioningof new MPCS, it'scompliance needs tobe ensured.

5. During the meeting webpage of REMAN_EL of Mis SIL make MPCS V3 was openedand itwas observed that the webpage is not opening. Mis SIL is advised to ensure theproper working of Vendor server of MPVS V3. Mis SIL was also advised to develop abetter user interface for the website.

6. Mis SIL is advised to expedite the testing ofREMAN_EL.

7. On analyzing the individual failures, it was observed that Mis SIL had carried out somemodification in SCU .. W' phase connection was not found in SCU. Mis SIL andRailways are advised to do one cyclic check ofSCU connection.

8. During the course of meeting it was learnt that Mis SIL had carried out some softwaremodifications also. Mis SIL is advised to submit details of all hardware and softwaremodifications carried out to ROSa by 30.8.2016. Mis SI L is further advised to carry outthe modifications only after prior approval of ROSa.
