Personal Statement

I have just completed my final year of a BA Honours degree in Italian and Spanish, and am waiting for results (2.1 expected). I am keen to pursue a fast-track graduate career in a sales-related environment. I already have customer service and sales experience and am able to manage my workload and time. I have effective people and communication skills and use my initiative to solve problems. I speak fluent Italian. I enjoy embracing challenges, and am able to spot opportunities and make the most of them. I am highly organised, efficient and creative, with excellent ICT skills.

Work HistorySummer 2014 Sandwich Artist, Yum Yums Haverfordwest

My Summer job in a sandwich shop entailed serving customers, cleaning, organising the deliveries, taking orders and making sandwiches. A big part of the job was building and maintaining good rapport with customers and positive, friendly relationships with my line manager and co-workers.

February – September 2012 Shop Manager, Spirit of Enterprise, Haverfordwest (PBI)

Spirit of Enterprise was an EU funded project designed to provide arts and crafts entrepreneurs with the opportunity to test trade. I had sole responsibility for the shop gallery and café at weekends and successfully managed a team of artists and traders. I also helped market and promote the business, advising buyers and making sales. I was responsible for cashing up and was the key holder.

Summer 2009 Waitress, George’s Café, Tenby

Working in a very busy seaside resort, I enjoyed Serving both holiday makers and regular customers, working in a fast paced and demanding environment. Positive teamwork was essential to deliver high standards of customer service.

2008 – present Babysitting/Childcare

I come from a large family and regularly have sole charge of my two younger brothers. I am patient, creative, diligent and able to cope with the unexpected challenges that caring for two young children with Down Syndrome brings.

Qualifications 9 GCSEs at Greenhill School, including English and Maths

4 A Levels at Pembrokeshire College in Italian, French, English Literature and Film Studies

Interests

I really enjoy travelling and learning about other cultures. I love playing the flute, watching documentaries on world affairs, socialising, meeting new people and shopping.
