Our Organisation's Capacity:

- To retain knowledge / stop reinventing of the wheel: knowledge online - not on emails : The nightmare - Increase adaptability to change and resilience: retain capacity despite people turn around, reorganisations, staff cuts- Cross learning among thematics + among various parts of the institution - Open our knowledge to and learn from partners, ngos, private sector, governments - Capitalise on the huge knowledge and expertise that stems from the implementation of thousands of projects : today stays mostly with the consultants and NGOs implementing our programmes- Re-consolidate the knowledge of hundreds of project / programme websites onto capacity4dev - Offer an open consultation space : internal and external

Challenges ahead

Just started: Redevelopment in 2014 to move to Drupal 7 : an opportunity to re-architecture the site and deliver better on key challenges:

>Incentives: build an conducive framework >Learning Portal : scorm compliant, eLearning, catalogues, course list,

tracking etc – Pilot for the new external LMS of the COM >Projects + links to corporate tools (pull data from Financial, GIS, PM..) >Online work tools (spreadsheets, doc based collaboration) >Mobile and Multilingual >Dig out value: Improved recommendations tool (who recommends)>Usability improvements across the board : look and feel and workflows>Low bandwidth>Widen Branding : DEVCO EU ?
