    OBJECTIVES OF THE SEMINAR

    • To present the actual risks of the LNG industry

    • To present the ways to limit / reduce / mitigate / avoid those risks

during design• To present the ways to cope with an LNG emergency during

    operations

while presenting most of the options available in terms of process

    technology

    TEACHING METHOD

    • Presenting sketches and pictures of specific equipment used in

LNG industry and pointing out the weak points, the risks

associated with each piece of equipment.• Presenting with pictures and videos the actual behavior of LNG

when its normal confinement is lost.

POINTS WHICH WILL NOT BE TACKLED in

    this presentation :

    • Safety problems common to natural gas at, or near, ambient

temperature (CO2, H2S, mercaptans, hydrates…) and with the gas

treatment plants (hazardous electrical zones, protection of turbine

enclosures….)• Pieces of equipment not specific to LNG (ex : gas compressors, gas

    or steam turbines)

    • Equipment sizing

    • Usual industrial protective clothing for personnel

    • Detailed costs & commercial aspects
