Munich Olympic Massacre

• September 5, 1972• Eight Palestinian terrorists captured 11 Israeli

athletes in Munich, West Germany. In an attempt to rescue the athletes, nine hostages and 5 terrorists were killed

Iran Hostage Crisis

• November 4th 1979 • President Carter allowed the Shah of Iran to

enter the United States. Iranian radicals then took control of the US embassy in Tehran and took 66 Americans hostage. 13 were released within the next few weeks but the rest were held hostage until their release in 1981

Grand Mosque Seizure

• November 20th, 1979• 200 islamic terrorists took control of the

Grand Mosque in Mecca and took hundreds of pilgrims hostage

• Saudi and French Forces soon regained control

Assassination of Egyptian President

• October 6, 1961• Takfir Wal-Hajira soldiers attacked and killed

Anwar Sadat during a troop review

Bombing of U.S Embassy in Beirut

• April 18, 1983• There was a suicide truck bomb outside of the

US embassy in Beirut Lebanon. The Islamic jihad claimed responsibility; 63 people were killed and 120 were injured

Bombing of Marine Barracks

• October 23rd 1983 • Suicide truck bombs went off simeltaneously

at French and American compounds in Beirut, Lebanon. 300 people were killed ; Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility

TWA Hijacking

June 14th 1985 A trans world airlines flight was hijacked by

Lebaneze Hizballah terrorists and forced to fly to Beirut.

Paris Subway Explosion

• December 3rd, 1996• A bomb exploded on a parisian subway cart as

it approached the Port Royal station • Algerian extremists are suspected to be

responsible

Terrorist Attacks on U.S homeland

• September 11, 2001 • Two hijacked planes crashed into the twin

towers of the World Trade Center. The pentagon was struck by a third plane; Osama Ben Laden is the major leader behind this attack

London Underground Bombings

• July 7, 2005• Four bombs in the London subway system

killed 52 people and injured 700
