RAD HTU E-1 Loops to be provided from RAD HTU E1 V.35 1. Towards far end: Rem Ch (Remote Channel) 2. Towards router: Local port V.35 interface modem of any make, any company is most often used as slave modems and modems with G703 interface are used as master modems. LEDs on RAD HTU-E1 V.35: 1. TD (Transmit Data): This indication on the modem is related with the connectivity between the modem and router. The LED in healthy condition should be glowing. If not, the connectivity between the modem and router is improper. Here the V.35 cable, the router port, V.35 port or even the router could be faulty. 2. RD (Receive Data): This indication is related with the channel. On healthy conditions this LED should be glowing. If not, the channel i.e., the connectivity after the master modem is either disconnected or failed. 3. Line A and Line B: On healthy conditions these two LEDs should be off. If the LEDs are red, the connectivity between the master modem and the slave modem is broken, that means the local lead (last mile copper) is faulty. 4. Test: Test LED glows when loop is activated from the modem. 5. ALM (Alarm): This LED glows when the line is disturbed. Even a minor disturbance can turn this LED on. LEDs on RAD HTU-E1 V.35:

RAD ASM 20 / ASM 31

Loops to be given from RAD ASM 20 / ASM 31 V.351. Towards far end: DIG (Digital) loop2. Towards router: ANA (Analog) loop

Both ASM 20 and ASM 31 modems are used for 64 Kbps circuits. The functions of both the modems are same. The only difference is ASM 20 supports 4 wire local lead and ASM 31 supports 2 wire local lead.

LEDs on RAD ASM 20 / ASM 31. V.35

1. TD (Transmit Data): This indication on the modem is related with the connectivity between the modem and router. The LED in healthy condition should be glowing. If not, the connectivity between the modem and router is improper. Here the V.35 cable, the router port, V.35 port or even the router could be faulty

3. RTS (Request To Send): Same as TD

4. DCD: In healthy conditions DCD should be glowing. If not the last mile is faulty

5. ERR (Error): Error LED is for testing errors in the last mile. To test errors in the line the buttons REM and PATT are to be pressed simultaneously. If ERR LED glows red, there are errors in the line, if not the line is clean.

6. TST (Test): Test LED glows when loop is activated from the modem.

ASCOM 2048A

Loops to be given from ASCOM 2048A1. Towards far end: Loop back2. Towards router: Local loop

LEDs on ASCOM 2048A

1. Urgent: If Urgent LED glows, the local lead is faulty. At some cases urgent LED glows even when the channel is faulty, if the modem is configured accordingly.

2. Non Urgent: Non Urgent glows if the channel is faulty or disconnected.

3. Test: Test LED glows when loop is active from the modem.

Tainet XSTREAM

Loops to be given from Tainet V.35 modem1. Towards far end: DL(Digital) test2. Towards router: LL(local) test3. Bidirectional: V.35 loop back

LEDs on Tainet Xstream modem.1. CPE (Customer Premises Equipment): This LED should be glowing if the last

mile is ok2. DSL (Digital Subscriber Line): DSL should be stable if the last mile is perfect.

If DSL blinks continuously the last mile is faulty.3. DTE 1 (Data Terminal Equipment): DTE 1 on V.35 modem should not be

glowing4. DTE 2: DTE 2 on V.35 modem should be glowing. It is related to the router port5. SQ (Signal Quality): SQ should not be glowing. If SQ glows the local lead is

faulty6. ALM (Alarm): Alarm shouldn’t be glowing in healthy conditions.7. TST (Test): Test glows when loop is active from the modem.

ASCOM AM 200

1. Line: Line LED should be green. If red the local lead is faulty2. User: User LED should be green. If red the channel is faulty

TELLABS STU Modems (Used for MTNL MLDN Circuits)

Loops from TELLABS STU modemsLoop has to be arranged remotely from MTNL MLDN NMS. NMS numbers are 22704200, 22701400, 22077882, 24549150, 28362556.Please note: Never inform the customer to provide loop from this modem as the modems are owned by MTNL and if at all the configurations get mismatched MTNL won’t attend the case.

LEDs on TELLABS STU modems.

1. 103: 103 LED is equivalent to TD as on RAD modem i.e., it’s related to the router

2. 104: 104 LED is equivalent to RD and is related to the channel. If 104 is off the fault is in the channel

3. 105: 105 LED is equivalent to RTS and is similar to the router.4. 106: Same as 1055. 109: 109 LED is equivalent to DCD and related to the last mile. If 109 is off

the last mile is faulty6. 142: 142 is equivalent to test. 142 glows if loop back is on.7. LA: LA glows red if the local lead is faulty.

1. Data: Data is related to the connectivity between the router and the modem. Data LED should be green and stable.

2. Sync: Sync LED refers to the connectivity between the master modem and slave modem. Sync LED should be green and stable. If not the last mile is faulty.

3. Line 1: Line 1 LED should be green. If not the last mile is faulty.4. Test: Test glows when loop is active from the modem.
