Models of Waterwheels

The technology teacher carried out a project to develop the design and the construction of models of a traditional irrigation system in our area, the waterwheel, using easy-to-find materials.

Steps to follow

1. Search of information about the different parts and elements of the machine

2. Students designed their own models, from two suggested presentations offered by the teacher: with single spoke and double spoke.

3. Materials: mainly woodIce cream sticksPlywood-3mmWooden round sticks 3,5mm diameter

4. The only metallic element was the axle

5. The task was carried out in pairs, in 9 sessions, in the technology workshop
