ParticipantsParticipants94 teams of three students each.Year 12 and 13 students from

around 48 schools from Kaitaia down to Pukekohe.

Plus a team of RYE students. First time.

Each team represents a particular United Nations country.

Each team dresses in an appropriate national costume.

donates his time on both Friday and Saturday.

Six remits have already been distributed to the schools and they have prepared themselves to role play their particular country.

Teams have already advised AGGS which remits they wish to speak to.

Speakers are timed by intrepid Rotarians and are quickly followed by the next speaker.

At some stage proceedings will be halted as a major event has just occurred somewhere in the world and the Security Council members are called to a separate meeting to discuss and recommend action. They report back later.

Teams and individuals are judged by a number of people over the two days and at the end of the Assembly the winners are announced and prizes awarded by the guest speaker who this year is Brigadier Phil McKee Deputy Chief of NZ Army who will have addressed the Assembly on the role of the NZ army in peacekeeping activities.

Entry fee.Entry fee.Entry fee is $220 per team.Most Rotary clubs pay $140 as their

contribution and the school pays $80.Second and subsequent teams are

usually paid for by the school at $220.However some clubs historically have

paid all or part of the entry fee for these too.

Your club makes that decision so you should include this in your annual budget.

NotificationNotificationAGGS will send a notice to all

secondary schools in February 2016 announcing the upcoming event.

The organising Rotary Club for 2016 sends a copy of that plus a detailed email telling what you need to do plus a list of allocated schools to all clubs in both Districts.

This will go to President, Secretary and Youth Director to make sure it is actioned.

if they are entering a team and make arrangements over payment.

When they register a team or teams the organising club is advised by AGGS and the school and your club are invoiced.

Pay your own invoice when you get it from the organising club.

students come to your club meeting and tell your members what they did.

Attend the Assembly yourself if you want a fun couple of hours on Friday or Saturday.
