INTRODUCTION
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), through the Division
of Career Education, requires community colleges to collect placement data on alumni in career
and technical majors 180 days after graduation. Data collected on graduates indicates
employment status in a related or non-related area, whether students are continuing education in
a related or non-related area, whether students are in the military in a related or non-related area,
and whether students are not employed and if so, the various reasons for not being employed.
This report reflects the information received through the questionnaires and personal contacts
made with students involved in the MACC 180-Day Graduate Follow-Up for 2015-covering
graduates of Summer 2014, Fall 2014, and Spring 2015 as verified through MACC graduate
listings for those periods.
Graduates were contacted by mail and asked to complete an on-line questionnaire and submit
through www.macc.edu or contact the Career and Placement office by telephone or email.
Additional contacts were made by email and telephone. Information was also gathered through
contacts with instructors and/or family members and emergency contacts. Facebook was also
used in an effort to contact graduates.
Data sheets were provided to students near the time of graduation with the information on the
sheets used for follow up contacts. Students were informed about this mandatory reporting
requirement by their instructors if enrolled in an Employment Seminar course and at the time of
their exit exam.
For the academic year 2014-2015, a total of 213 students received degrees, certificates, or
certificates of specialization. The breakdown for the period is:

related to their degree/certificate or training area.
Continuing Education Not-Related (CED NR) - Continuing education in a field not
related to their degree/certificate or trianing area.
