Mnemonics Webquest Introduction: You are a high school science teacher and you need to present your students with a long list of material that needs to be memorized. You have read that using mnemonics can aid students in recalling important information. You would like to use mnemonic techniques to help your students. Task: In groups of two, you will choose a type of mnemonic devise to organize information about the brain. You and your partner will then present the mnemonic to the class with a poster board to assist you. Process: 1. You and your partner will briefly research how mnemonics work and the different types of mnemonic devices. Here are some examples of types of mnemonic devices . 2. You will be assigned a topic in which you will devise a mnemonic device. Topics will be: Cranial Nerves (Names) Cranial Nerves (functions) 3. You and your partner will develop an ORIGINAL mnemonic… Remember, there are many types of devices you can use, so make it fun! You will then create a visual display for your mnemonic. 4. You will need to present your device to the class with a visual aid and a description of why you feel this device will work for you. Imagination is key and creativity will be a large part of your grade for this activity. Evaluation: Your final product will be graded on the following: Originality of mnemonic: 40 points Visual presentation: 35 points

Introduction:
