About MIT Group of Instuons

Maharashtra Academy of engineering & Educaonal Research (MAEER), Pune, was

established in the year 1983 is a well known educaon trust with 71 instuons delivering KG

to PG educaon with having more than 60000 students. MAEER is truly mul-campus and

mul-disciplinary organizaon conducng University approved academic programmes in

Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medicine and Polytechnic. MAEER’s Maharashtra

Instute of Technology (MIT) is synonymous with excellence in the field of educaon.

About MAEER's MIT School of Management

MAEER’s MIT School of Management (MIT-SOM), established in 1987, one of the reputed

Post Graduate Management School in Pune, is imparng value based universal educaon in

the field of Management Sciences and Informaon Technology with the aim of creang global

leaders and entrepreneurs for the naon. MIT-SOM offers post graduate management

programs affiliated to University of Pune.

Presently, under the able leadership and guidance of Prof. Rahul V. Karad, Execuve Director,

MIT Group of Instuons – MITSOM has taken a phenomenal growth and became a flagship

instute in the naon.

About Faculty Development Programme

Management educaon in the country has made phenomenal growth during the last two

decades. The liberalizaon of the Indian economy during early 90’s and the internet–led

globalizaon during the later part of the last decade had posed a large number of challenges

that demand advanced managerial skills. The mushrooming of management instuons

offering graduate and PG level programmes are the result of the huge demand-supply gap

that was created due to the rapid expansion of the economy. While the need for high quality

mangers and management graduates sll connue, the quality of these management

instuons are far from sasfactory. While most of these instuons have quality hardware

architecture (buildings, library, laboratories etc.), they are seriously handicapped in faculty

resources. The general postgraduate programmes in management (MBA from universies or

Post Graduate Programmes from reputed instuons) are not designed to incorporate the

pedagogical and research skills necessary for a Management Academic, who in turn can

impart quality educaon. Purposeful and proacve acon is crical to both, the academia as

well as the praconers, for a more meaningful contribuon to the dynamic world of

business. The Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) of the Instute provides a plaorm to

both the academia and the praconers for connuous and sustained growth and

development through a mutual sharing of experiences, knowledge and skill through

interacve learning methods.
