C AST CONCRETE is now cast in a new role as ahighly sophisticated an d flexible ar t form forbuilding ornamentation.

Arts for Architecture, In c ., ha s adapted this material into three-dimensional squares of sculptureddesigns which can be joined together to crea tesculptured wall facings for exterior an d interiorbuilding walls.

Each square is a different design bu t all utilizea basic 12" x 12" module. This makes it possiblefo r architects an d designers to interrelate , arrangean d rearrange these modules to create wall facingsof their own patterns an d to any height an d lengthdesired _

Th e designs ar e inspired by stone carvings ofancient Yucatan , Mayan, Gothic an d South Seasorigin. James Seeman, president of Arts for Architecture, Inc., who is both artist an d engineer, unitedthese talents to adapt the basic design elements ofthe ancient stone sculptures within modern-day

Cast Concrete Tra nsformedInto Modules Of Design

    For Building Ornamentation

Full wall of sculptured stone gives stun-ning impact to lobby of famous AmericanaHotel in Miami Beach. The de si gn s ar eauthentic adaptat ions of stone carvingsfrom ancien t Mexican cultures.

Indoor swimming pool enhanced into unusual originality an d elegence with asweeping wall of sculptured stone. Blocksm ay be arranged an d interrelated in un-limited choice of pattern designs .

modular concept.Special paper patterns ar e made available for

architects an d designers who can then shift themabout, much like cutouts, to work ou t their ownarrangements.

In the lobby of the famous Americana Hotel inMiami Beach, the use of an Arts for Architecturewall in Mayan an d Aztec designs, achieves stunningeffect in this important public area. An d in NewYork an d elsewhere, sculptured walls appear as

facades across the entire exteriors of office buildings .

In addition to hi s own design creations, James

    3

Seeman also commissions outstanding artists of theworld .

Fo r example, "Taniko," a stone mural co nsist ingof individually designed squares whose inspirationderives from the ar t of the South Sea Islands , isthe work of Mr. Perli Pelzig , in t ernationally knownar tist. Among other honors, Mr. Pelzi g holds theAmerican Institute of Architects Gold Medal.

"Sculptured wa lls ," notes Mr. Seeman , " havebeen a major ar t express ion in every highl y civ i

lized society and, in fact , ar e an essential co mplement to the ge ner al austerity of contemporary architecture an d design."
