Live the Liturgy - Inspiration for the Week When we take the time to prayerfully reflect on Scripture, we discover that
we find pathways to God. Sacred Scripture allows us to know God more deeply
and heightens our awareness of how God acts in all of the events of our lives.
Sacred Scripture tells the story of God's love relationship with His people and
demonstrates His patient willingness to wait for us to freely love Him in return.

XXIX Sunday in Ordinary Time Gospel Meditation - Encourage Deeper understanding of
Scripture
"Will not God then secure the rights of His chosen ones who
call out to Him day and night?" The widow in today's parable
didn't give up. She kept "bothering" the judge by coming to him
and asking for a decision in her favor. Ultimately, her persistence
caught his attention and influenced his behavior. Jesus seems
to be teaching us today that this quality of faithful persistence is a
good one to have. Thus, He advises us to call out to God not
once, not twice, but "day and night." This is a fitting image for
the idea of continual prayer; it goes on all the time without ceasing.
As this Gospel reading says in the opening line, Jesus
wanted to teach His disciples how to "pray always without
becoming weary." It's interesting that the method He used for this
instruction was to emphasize the reward of such persistent prayer.
The parable's conclusion assures us that for those who pray
without giving up, God "will see to it that justice is done for them
speedily." Perhaps this attractive promise is supposed to keep us
from losing hope, from throwing in the towel, from becoming
"weary" when our requests don't seem to be getting heard.
Following the example of this determined widow, we need not fear to repeatedly make our requests known to God. In fact,
we should make a point of it! If we only offer our prayers of
petition halfheartedly, without real conviction, persistence, or
sincerity, they are not as powerful as they could be. But when we
truly commit to taking these requests before the Lord, day after
day (and night after night!) then we are displaying a kind of
profound faith in God's ability to act on our behalf. So, full of
hope and trust, let's keep "bothering" this truly just Judge!
World Mission Sunday this Weekend This weekend, we will celebrate World Mission Sunday.
Pope Francis invites the entire Church to support the mission
dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin
America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders
serve the world's most vulnerable communities. Please keep the
Pope's missions in your prayers, and be generous in next week's
collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
Feast of Saint John Paul II: October 22 It is traditional to celebrate saints' feast days
on the anniversary of their deaths, but that of John
Paul II (22 October) is celebrated on the
anniversary of his papal inauguration. Born Karol
Wojtyla in Krakow, Pope John Paul II became the
first-ever Polish pope. He came of age in the early
20th century and lived through both the Nazi and communist
occupations of Poland. His resistance activities were cultural,
operating an underground theater company and entering a secret
seminary. Karol was ordained a priest in 1946 and later a bishop.
He was elected pope in 1978. As pope, the interests that captured his heart as a young man continued -- his pastoral concern for
young people, his philosophical emphasis on the human person,
and his devotion to Mary and to the mercy of God. St. John Paul
II, pray for us! John Paul, who was pope from 1978 to 2005, was
canonized, that is, declared a saint, by Pope Francis in 2014. on
Divine Mercy Sunday.
Praying for Missionaries Let us ask God’s blessing on those men and women from
other countries who are in our midst as priests, brothers, and sis-
ters. And when we pray, let us also ask God to change our hearts
so that we will again produce a society that brings forth more
vocations. Let us pray...
God of every nation,
you commissioned us at Pentecost
to go and make disciples of all nations.
When we take up your commission,
we become missionaries of your Gospel.
Bless all missionaries in our communities with your love that surpasses all understanding.
Change our hearts so that we become
the missionaries you expect us to be.
We ask this through Jesus,
the first missionary of your Gospel.
Amen.

Respect Life Month Baby Drive!!! October is Respect Life Month! The Breath
of Life Ministry will be collecting baby items
from Oct. 12-27. All donations will help families
in need or crisis meet the needs of their newborn.
The donations will be distributed through the Focus Pregnancy
Center, Women’s Care Center and the Margaret Home. The most
critical needs are: clothes for newborns such as onesies,
layettes, baby bottles with nipples, baby blankets, baby
shampoo & lotion, baby wipes, pacifiers and formula. FYI,
many couples choose an abortion out of fear due to not being able
to meet the day to day needs of caring for a newborn. Thank you
for your generous response! Sonja Stenclik and Dorothy Hayes
(Co-Chairpersons of the Breath of Life Ministry).
Msza Święta za Zmarłych Parafian Każdego roku w Kościele Świętego Stanisława jest
odprawiana Msza Święta za Zmarlych Parafian i wszystkich,
których pogrzeb odbył się w naszym Kościele od Listopada
poprzedniego roku, az do chwili obecnej. Zapraszamy rodziny
zmarlych, przyjaciól i znajomych do uczestniczenia w Eucharystii
w Piątek 8-go Listopada o godzinie 6:00 wieczorem. Wieczny
odpoczynek racz im dać Panie…
Placki Ziemniaczane w Niedzielę 27 Października Serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich na wspaniałe Placki
Ziemniaczane które będą sprzdawane w przyszłą Niedzielę, 27
Października, w audytorium po Mszach Św.
Fall - Back to School Food Drive! Now that school is back in session many school age children
receive breakfast and lunch at school. But, many times these
same children come home to an empty cupboard or refrigerator
and often go to bed hungry. Parents are trying to
make at least simple meals but struggle to have
the needed ingredients. Your donations of even
JUST ONE can, box or bag of food can provide
at least something to ease the pain of hunger. The
GREATEST NEEDS are: crackers, canned
fruits and vegetables, spaghetti, macaroni-elbow, rotini, bows
and sauce PLUS CEREAL and rice.
swego ducha i bezustannie, i prosi o dary wielkie, nawet o Dar
Ducha Świętego. Taki człowiek, wcześniej czy później, zorientuje
się, że jego modlitwy zostały wysłuchane przez Pana.
Aby nauczyć się więcej i bezustannie modlić, prośmy
zawsze naszego Pan aby przymnożył nam wiary.
”Ewangelia jest radością trudu — i jest równocześnie trudem
radości, trudem zbawienia”. ~St. John Paul II
"The Church does not offer to the people of today riches that
pass, nor does she promise them a merely earthly happiness. But
she distributes to them the goods of divine grace."
~St. John XXIII
