18 So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things

are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we

who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for

our souls.

Our Missions PhilosophyOur Missions Philosophy

1. We believe in the importance of working ourselves out of a job: replacing ourselves!

2. Brazilian Christians make all decisions.

3. We also believe in starting churches that are dependent only on the Lord and not on man.

4. Therefore, we do not believe in using US funds to support local preachers or to build buildings. From our experiences and mistakes in Africa, we learned this creates dependency, jealousy, and enormous problems.

5. The churches we work with and start will be self-supporting.

2 Corinthians 4:16-182 Corinthians 4:16-1816Therefore we do not lose heart. Though

outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving

for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Why does God choose Why does God choose notnot to heal to heal sometimes? sometimes?

1. Does it mean God is not powerful enough to heal? No!

2. Does it mean that we did not have enough faith (as the false health/wealth gospel teaches?) No!

3. Prayer is not manipulating God to get what you want - but to trust Him and say, “I am leaving the outcome of this trial to you. Teach me all I can learn from this trial”

Purpose of Trials? 1 Peter 1:7Purpose of Trials? 1 Peter 1:7

7 These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold – and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

3. God can bring good out of the worst tragedy and suffering; He has promised He would do this and He does!!!!

4. God sees the “BIG PICTURE” of our lives, we do not; God is in the details of our lives and He is taking our lives and History somewhere: Judgment Day!
