About NHV:
• Not for Profit Corporation – 501(c)(3)• A community that 101 individuals with physical disabilities call home• Set on 25 beautiful acres, New Horizons, Inc. purchased in 1964• 68 total apartments, New Horizons Village opened in 1986
Why New Construction?
• NHV tenants currently must occupy a double unit when moving in• NHV tenants currently must wait @ 19 years to move to a single unit• New Horizons has committed to constructing new single units in order to allow for the needs of
its residents.
Construction Plan – History:
• Original Proposed New Construction• Meeting with Neighbors – April 9, 2018• Sent invitations to neighbors located on Oak Ridge to walk the proposed site and discuss
concerns with architect and team• Submitted revised proposal changing site of New Construction – 5/31/18• Committed to the safety and accessibility to our campus for all residents
• Timing of application, and acceptance thereof, is critical to obtaining financing for the project specifically for Grant submissions
