MISSIONIn France, the problems of poverty and mar-ginalisation are widespread and increasinglycomplex.The Social Mission in France carriesout solidarity projects aimed at alleviating thesuffering of the most vulnerable: familiesstruggling on the brink of poverty, the home-less, migrants, the unemployed, the elderly,persons with disabilities...

EPISOLEpisol socially responsible grocery storesprovide occasional food relief for people indifficulty as well as socio-educational sup-port. The money saved allows beneficiariesto finance one personal project.In the same spirit as Episol groceries, SecoursIslamique France implements an individualmicrocredit system.

MICROCREDITSIn the same way, Secours Islamique Franceimplements a microcredit system withoutinterest for the vulnerable persons.

HOUSING/ACCOMMODATIONHousing policy persons in difficulty is a prio-rity for the Secours Islamique France. Thismeans setting up daytime social centres,emergency accommodation structures, tran-sitory accomodation.

SOCIAL EMERGENCIESOur nighttime rounds enable us to meet thehomeless. In addition to distributing toiletrykits and food packages, they offer an oppor-tunity for exchanges and for maintaining asocial bond with the homeless. Eventually,these persons are referred to specialisedorganisations.

FOOD AIDThe SIF provides food aid to marginalizedpopulations (inmates, migrants...) and contri-butes to the fight against exclusion.

CONTEXTS

EMERGENCIES & REHABILITATIONProviding assistance to the most vulnerablepopulations, even in the most difficultconditions... Secours Islamique France,working closely with its partners, mobiliseshuman and material resources for providingimmediate relief to victims of conflicts andnatural disasters: food aid, drinking water,psycholgical support, building of infrastructu-res… Beyond emergencies, these actions aredesigned to allow the transition towardpreliminary reconstruction and rehabilita-tion, essential for any future developmentwork.

DEVELOPMENTSecours Islamique France implements deve-lopment programmes enabling local popula-tions to regain their independence over thelong term. Local involvement is the key tofoster the emergence of civil society, which isat the heart of our preoccupations andactions (Water and Sanitation, income gene-rating activities, education and training,healthcare).

FIELD OF ACTIONS

WATER AND SANITATIONAccess to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene isseen as a fundamental right for all humanbeings. Seeking to help halve the percentageof the world’s population currently having noreasonable access to drinkable water andbasic sanitation facilities, Secours IslamiqueFrance has had its «WASH» program set atthe centre of its.

FOOD SECURITYFood security and nutrition play a centralrole in our actions in the field. Seasonal pro-grammes and long-term projects comple-ment each other in the fight against hunger:distribution of food packages and meatduring Ramadan and Eid Al-Adha, preventionactivities, the fight against malnutrition, sup-port projects for subsistence farming...

VULNERABLE ORPHANS AND CHILDRENSIF grants an important place in its project tothe protection and the sponsorship oforphans and vulnerable children.This impor-tance has been showed by the setting up ofa special program related to nutrition, medi-cal care and education access as well as psy-chosocial support. By elsewhere, the vulnera-ble orphans and children component is sys-tematically included in all our other pro-grams (water, food security).

SPONSORING ORPHANSSponsorship of orphans is a tool forchild protection.This programme is apriority for reaching objectives inthe field of human rights and deve-lopment. Thanks to education andcounselling, children are protectedfrom life in the street and many risksof exploitation.
