SAP Solution Composer - Content
The SAP Solution Composer is a PC-based tool forcreating & editing bus iness maps.
The tool helps to create your own customer-specific
map, edit the pre-defined content or build a new map
using the one-click editing function.
Business maps help you understand how your
business creates value for your customers and how
you can increase value by opt imising processes and
implementing the right software solution. There are
over 400 business maps delivered with the tool.
Three types of Business Maps are available:
1) SAP Industry Solut ion Map
2) SAP Application Map
3) SAP Business Scenario Map

SAP Business Map type 1: Industry Solution Map
SAP Industry Solution MapThe SAP Industry Solut ion Map is oriented along a
generic industry value chain, and documents or
illustrates the end-to-end business processes
(business scenarios) of a typical enterprise in a
certain indust ry/segment.
Drill down to the next levels of the Industry Solution
Map to get more detailed information about the
business scenarios, or end-to-end businessprocesses, like e.g. Supply-to-
Line.

SAP Business Map type 2: Application Map
The SAP Application Map represents SAP's (and
partner) offering for a cross-industry solut ion.
This type of Business Map is a consistent mul ti-level
blueprint showing the processes for a cross-
industry solution.
The Application Map is s tructured along process
categories, which are shown as grey blocks and
main processes represented in colored blocks. Byclicking and selecting the dif ferent elements you can
navigate to the next level, e.g. Demand & Supply
Planning.

SAP Business Scenario MapSAP Business Scenario Maps are a graphicrepresentation of a key industry-specific orcross-industry business scenario. Here the
business process is displayed including
Roles and Business Partners and include
quantifiable business benefits. This type of
Business Map is linked into the Industry and
Cross-industry Solution Maps.
Business Scenario Maps have two views:
The Business View including quantitative
business benefits and the Interaction View,
which also shows the process and activity
flow but including additional informationregarding roles and business documents.

The Solution Composer offers the export ofthe Industry Solut ion Maps, Application Maps
and Business Scenario Maps into Word,
HTML, Excel or PowerPoint format.
