Components of an IB Course
Internal Assessment (IA)A specific paper, lab report, oral assessment or piece of
writing you complete for the course. The guidelines are determined by IB and the work is sent to IB for
grading or moderation. It is also part of your final IB
score
External Assessment (Exams)
Seated final exams that are written by the IB and sent to IB for grading. Students
from all over the world take the same exams on
the same day. Determines your final IB Score in
combination with your IA
CourseworkAll the learning activities, tests, projects, etc. That
you do in your IB Classes. Every class has an IB
syllabus which determines the contents of the course.
SL classes have the standard content
HL have a little more.

PrerequisitesMany courses have
prerequisites - classes you have to pass before you can enroll in the course
Graduation RequirementsMake sure you have room
for required classes. Health, US Govt, etc.
History HL requires you test to meet graduation
requirements for Gov/Econ
Group 6Both Visual Art SL and HL
are two year courses. G6 may be fulfilled with an additional G3 or G4 course
