Resources and Mission Location: Mercy Home, Brooklyn, NY

The Vice President of Human Resources and Mission reports to the Executive Director and is the senior most Human Resource directing the Human Resource functions and provides strategic Human Resource leadership in the areas of talent management, recruiting, employee relations, labor relations, organizational change, performance management, employee satisfaction and compensation and benefits in support of the organization's mission, strategic goals and core values. The Vice President advises management on labor and other legal issues relative to employment and serves as staff liaison to the Board of Directors Governance committees. This position also represents the agency by promoting and modeling the mission and core values of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Home. Qualifications:

MA/MS in Human Resources or a related field 5+ years experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Valid and unrestricted drivers license

Position: Associate Director

Location: Josephine’s Place, Elizabeth, NJ

Josephine's Place is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. It is a center for women, located in an economically poor area in Elizabeth, NJ. In its twelfth year, the mission of Josephine’s Place is to provide space that facilitates the empowerment of women by building a trust that promotes a freedom to be open and honest; creating an environment in which women are to be respected; providing a space that is reflective of the needs of women as they themselves have expressed them. The Associate Director is responsible for assisting the Director of Josephine’s Place in the creation, implementation and evaluation of programs for women in consultation with program participants; recruitment and training of volunteers; and promotion of Josephine’s Place and its programs to possible funders and within the community. Additional Responsibilities:

Expand and develop successful programs Design and implement new programs Design evaluation tools for programs Develop positive relationships with staff of partner agencies Visits sites frequented by women and talk with them about Josephine’s Place Design and distribute flyers to community agencies, institutions and businesses Oversee preparation and distribution of Josephine’s Place newsletter Track and maintain accurate records of all visits Research sources of funding Develop proposals for grants and endowment funding Assist the Director in planning and implementation of fundraising events and

development of donation requests Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, or three years equivalent experience, in administration required

Interest and passion to minister with women Ability to communicate and interact with individuals from a variety of cultures and

backgrounds Strong administrative and organizational ability Ability to network with people Skilled in use of computer for research, data collection and analysis and

communication Fluency in English and Spanish

The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, located in Elizabeth, NJ, has an opening for a part-time (25-30 hours) Volunteer Coordinator/Hospitality House Coordinator. Responsibilities: As Hospitality House Coordinator

Manage 3 facilities/7 units in a transitional housing program for working homeless families

Supervise case management and provide case management as needed, including admitting and discharging guest in the online homeless information management system

Develop and facilitate workshops for guests (2 monthly) Manage operations and maintenance of buildings Coordinate the various groups and individuals who volunteer for the program Maintain relationships with donors

As Volunteer Coordinator

Coordinate the agency volunteer program, including recruitment, orientation and supervision

Assist the Executive Director as needed Requirements:

Must have bachelor’s degree Must have demonstrated experience in building community Must have demonstrated management experience Social service or similar experience in working with low-income individuals
