——————————————————————————————— Children’s Book Cart ministry - Our goal is to provide books in the homes of children who might not otherwise have them for their very own. The children are thrilled to get the books and have been known to start reading them right then and there! We try to host the cart every week that the Food Pantry is open. If you would like to volunteer to be the host one or more weeks the during the rest of this year, we guarantee that you will get a blessing as well as give a blessing. AND, it’s a sit-down job! The time for hosting the cart is from 4:00 to 5:30 on Thursdays, but you are welcome to join in the devotion time with all Food Pantry volunteers starting at 3:30. If you appreciate the need being met through the book cart and want to participate, please contact Susan Gentry at 919-280-3862 or [email protected] with dates you would like to host. —————————————————————————————— Can you measure, cut and sew a straight line? The Naomi-Louise Circle needs a simple cover to be made for the book cart. Fabric and notions will be provided. ANOTHER sit-down job! Please contact Susan Gentry at [email protected] or 919-280-3862. Thanks! —————————————————————————————— The Summer Nights Book Club selection for July 31 is Holy Envy; and for August 21, Blink. All meetings are Wednesday at 7pm in the Chapel. These books are available from the Wake County Public Library. Everyone is welcome and no signups are required. ——————————————————————————————— The Peru mission trip is August 8-17. Our team consists of John Royall, Connie Orander, Maria Burgos, Edith Salazar, Kristine Barnes, Dr. James Jernigan, Brianne Forgie, and Izabel Jernigan. We will conduct VBS sessions in different churches and provide goody bags for about 200 kids. We’d like to request donations from WP members to help us fill those bags. We also gratefully accept your prayers and monetary donations, which should be earmarked for “International Work Teams”. Thanks for whatever you can do! Contact Kristine Barnes with any questions at 919-467-2484 or [email protected].
