Firstto design and manufacture single phasing preventors in India and fulfill an emerging market requirementinnovatively.
SHAPING THE MARKETMinilec's bench-mark developments have shaped the markets since 1965.For instance, in the year 2002, responding to
customer feedback, we introduced multiple options in enclosures of relays, ( in addition to the existing D1-D2 ), P1-P2
and F3 enclosures. This product enhancement gave our customers the much needed flexibility in terms of size and
started a trend. Another interesting product development came anticipating a market need, the MBAS 9400 with front
replaceable windows, which gave us the edge to win a major tender from Indonesian Electricity Authority against
American and Japanese competitors in 1994. This updation in MBAS 9400 has also ensured a continuous flow of
orders from the Malaysian Electricity Authority since 1994.
BENCHMARK DEVELOPMENTS 1965-2007
1982:
First to launch micro-processor based alarm annunciator.(Redesigned as Microwarn 9000 in 1990), this was, and remains the most beautiful alarm annunciator attracting customers across theglobe.
1984:
First to introduce super bright LEDs for facia of alarm annunciators.
1994:First company in our segment to get ISO 9001.
1997:
First company to introduce RS232 communication port to alarm annunciators.
2000:
Millennium Series (P1 & P2 enclosures)products launched
2005:
MBAS 9700 expanded up to 128 channels.
2006:Microcontroller based relaysreplacing existing relays (D1 & D2 series) introduced.

Introduction & Application
CORE BALANCE CURRENT TRANSFORMERS (CBCT) is a sensor to
sense ear th fault current in conjunction with an EARTH FAULT RELAY
to protect the system when an EARTH FAULT occurs on one or more
phases. The CBCT is mounted externally & load carrying conductors
are passed through CBCT. The CBCT inner diameter is large enough
to pass all the three bus-bars or the three phase cables, unlike ametering CT where only one bus-bar or cable passes through the CT.
As the VECTOR SUM of the three currents at any given time is ZERO,
the resultant magnetic field through the core of the CT is zero. This is
the healthy situation of the system. If required Neutral also can be
passed through CBCT in case of 3 phases, 4 wire system. Ideally
Vector Sum will remain zero in case of fault free systems.
In the event of an Earth Fault occurring in any of the phases, the
current in that phase rises, inducing a resultant magnetic flux in the
CT secondary, energizing the relay & tripping the system.
The current at CBCT secondary will depend on the actual earth fault
current level & hence unbalanced loading does not affect the
functioning of Earth fault relay.

The input Voltage and current signals arescaled down through interposing andcurrent transformers. The scaled downvoltage signal proportional to vcos. Thissignal is divided by the voltage signal to getDC Voltage linearly proportional to PowerFactor. This output is further processed toprovide DC Voltage / Current output signal.
The Transducer is suitable for balancedoad conditions only, when used on 3Phase 3 Wire, 3 Phase 4 Wire electrical
networks.
The input Voltage and current signals are scaled down through interposing potential and current transformer.In case of reactive transducers the voltage signals are 900 phase shifted. The scaled down signals are fed toprecision multipliers working on time division multiplication principle. The multiplier output is processed toprovide DC Voltage / Current output signal proportional to input active / reactive power. For Signal Phasenetwork, only Active Power Transducer is offered. Fro 3 Phase 3 Wire or 3 Phase 4 Wire electrical networksboth Active and Reactive Power Transducers are offered for balanced as well as unbalanced load conditions.

The input signal is filtered and processed to convert into a standard dc voltage. This voltage is fed to a linear optocoupler which
provides the required galvanic isolation. An optical feedback is used for improved linearity, response time and temperature effects.
The output from the linear optocoupler is fur ther processed to provide dc voltage / current output.
The isolator with fast response time (10 mSec) are typically used in feedback control system.
In input dc current is chopped by the chopper to convert it into high frequency ac signal. This signal is fed to an isolating high
frequency transformer. The ac output current from the transformer is rectified and filtered to obtain load independent dc output
current. As the transformation ratio is 1:1 the output current is identical in value to the dc input current.
