Welcome to Minerva of Hereford.

The dream of two Herefordshire born craftsmen, to create a company renown for producing outstanding quality kitchens and interiors. Over the steam of freshly poured coffee, Matthew Cruse and Joshua Arkell begun to plan their adventure. The first important decision was the name and after hours of rigorous debate and cups of now cold coffee, a decision was reached. Minerva was the ancient roman goddess of wisdom and war, a name that reflected the determination and drive they both felt.

Drawing upon their accumulated years of artisanal skill they set up Minerva of Hereford to design, produce and install bespoke, handcrafted products using only the finest methods, materials and finishes. Matthew and Joshua passionately feel that regardless of where the future might take them, they will always maintain three important beliefs;

Bespoke craftsmanship Bespoke; a unique product designed and produced around the individual requirements of a client. Unless requested, a Minerva product will never be fashioned around standard sizes as mass produced versions are. Every item will be handcrafted with a devoted touch and be entirely unique, designed from scratch around every clients personalities and homes.

Respected personalised service Our clients enjoy the knowledge that Minerva’s personalised approach mean they will always be able to contact one of our directors at any step through their journey with us. They will be fully aquatinted with every client and their project and ready to assist.

Our process

We value our clients above all else, so we understand that achieving your dream project regardless of how big or small it may be, is very important. We maintain a simple, clean and efficient working procedure, while maintaining a personal touch. Ensuring you not only get exactly what you want during your time with us but enjoy the journey.

Consultation We offer a free consultation service. After initial contact, we will arrange to visit your home, whenever is convenient, to discuss your project. We will listen to your ideas and measure your home. We embrace all design ideas and relish the challenge of new and exciting projects. We will then send you a quotation for your consideration.

Design On receiving confirmation, we will proceed to process your order. The exciting part begins; confirming designs, selecting colours, materials and finishes and finalising all details in your project. We will discuss any other trades involved and manage this aspect if you require. At this point we will be able to offer you a working timescale. Keeping a personal feel is essential to our business so you will always be dealing with the same person within our company. They will always know your project and be able to answer any questions you may have.

Manufacture Once all designs are confirmed and you're happy for us to proceed, we will source the materials and your project will be assigned to our workshop. Using a seamless blend of traditional techniques and efficient modern technology we will make and finish your furniture to specification.

Fitting Minerva’s philosophy is that a meticulous attention to detail goes into every stage of your project. While we can simply supply your furniture, we feel that by providing our own fitting service this is the only way we can guarantee that attention to detail. We will install your furniture around your requirements and organise all other trades and services that are necessary.

Finishing Looking after our customers is vital to us and the future of our company. After completion of every project, we meet with our client to ensure that their requirements and dreams are met by perfection. We will always respect your home and leave it clean and tidy.

Bespoke

Understanding that there are a vast number of furniture designs and with ever increasing sources for inspiration, we offer our clients the option of a completely bespoke approach.

We can design furniture based entirely around our clients wishes, in this approach we actively encourage using resources such social media, the internet and magazines to gather design inspiration and help us to understand the requirements of your project.

Kitchens Minerva offers a range of kitchen designs to suit the varied tastes and properties of it’s clientele. These have all been designed with both ergonomic durability and elegant refinement in mind to ensure our clients are delighted with our products many years into the future.

Minerva doesn’t work around fixed sized manufactured units. We handcraft every part of our furniture so it fits seamlessly into your home and everything is exactly where you want it.

Each range is exceedingly customisable, ensuring a unique product. With a staggering number colour options, materials including stunningly beautiful hardwoods and a vast range accessories available, we can ensure you individuality in your Minerva furniture.

Designs Ferrara

Ferrara, a renowned heritage city that shares it’s cultural importance with that of the shaker design that it is based on. The clean ageless lines of the Ferrara inspire creativity with colours and materials. The blank canvas which so many of our designs are based on, is in it’s own right our most popular furniture style.

Designs Florence Historically noted for it’s distinguished architecture and culture. Hailed by many as the birthplace of the renaissance, a movement that shaped the modern world of architecture and the inspiration behind this Minerva design. Adding a depth of character with a raised and fielded panel and optional roll bead moulding on the framework, the Florence shows understated grace and reflects the grandeur of this ancient city.

Designs Tuscany The rolling hills, rustic towns and stunning landscapes are the key aspects that influenced our Tuscany range. This design uses clever finishing techniques to deliver the impression of a well worn and much loved item of furniture. Crafted from brushed grain solid oak for an intentional rustic appeal, this range will grace any country kitchen with a charismatic charm.

Designs Molveno Molveno, a simple village renowned for it’s lake, a vast expanse of crystal clear water reflecting the scenery of Molveno. This is where we found the insight for this design range. An elementary design of clean lines and contemporary smooth handless panels reflects on the unbroken waters of Molveno.

Entirely bespoke, we spray and polish the finish ourselves. This allows us to make units to any size or shape required, and can be finished in a huge spectrum of colours.

Carcasses Minerva believe that the quality of the units that support your kitchen are as important as the surfaces you touch and see everyday. Since our kitchens are designed entirely around our clients designs and spaces, every carcass is unique and hand-built to suit. The latest in coloured and patterned laminates, solid timber veneers, and hardwood plywoods are a few of the offered options in the construction of our carcasses. All offer different characteristic and we advise our clients based on each individual case.

Materials There are a huge range of materials on offer, everything from beautiful hardwoods, through to engineered products designed to endure the exacting requirements of everyday life. We listen to each clients individual needs and advise the best materials to suit the finish specified.

Design choices Achieving a design that is correct for each individual client relies upon a perfect harmony of finishes, fittings, materials, and textures. Minerva can advice and source products from a wide selection.

Handles Unless a contemporary handless design is specified, then handles will be required for doors and drawers. Brushed copper, cast iron and polished chrome, a few options amongst a vast range that can be utilised to compliment any chosen design.

Colours and finishes Protecting the investment and exciting the eye, the finish of our furniture is vitally important. We have researched a vast range of products so whether our clients prefer the character of hand painted or mirror effect high gloss, we can provide. Our ranges feature desirable and respected brands as well as innovative finishes in thousands of colour options.

Worktops Undoubtably one of the most essential elements of any kitchen. A worktop must be relied upon to be a strong and enduring investment, but the correct choice will also beautifully compliment the furniture it sits amongst. Minerva can advise, design and fit any worktop,

from the vast range of options available on the market today. We work alongside specialists that can supply awe-inspiring granites and composites, as well as fitting our own charming but durable hardwood surfaces.

Storage Storage can cleverly be incorporated into the design of any Minerva kitchen. There are many options available, from state of the art metalwork products, to traditional methods such as oak spice racks, larders and plate racks. Either elegantly displayed or hidden behind innovative integration, our many storage designs will keep every item in place, while adding a premium feel to your furniture.

Appliances Apart from being vital timesaving necessities in the modern world, appliances can be luxurious creations of art. Minerva can source from a vast catalogue of esteemed brands. We can incorporate any appliance into our furniture, either giving the illusion of invisibility through an integrated model, or cleverly displayed to fully enhance a stylish product.

Sink and taps Minerva can source premium fixtures from a range of brands to suit all tastes, designs and budgets. Clients that prefer to source there own fixtures are welcome, we can easily adapt to any product and incorporate it into our furniture.

Utilities and Boot rooms Industrious areas need a level of quality to perform the hard tasks thrown at them and still shine come the end of the day. Minerva can produce tough, yet attractive furniture for all serviceable rooms. We can extend the future designs of a kitchen into the utility room to blend seamlessly. Boot rooms are designed around our clients spaces and requirements.

Bed and Dressing Rooms Bedrooms are retreats from the bustle of the world, rooms of precious respite. Minerva’s artisanal bedrooms includes built in or freestanding wardrobes, chests of drawers and beds. Our clients can either choose a bespoke design or from our architectural ranges for their fitted or freestanding furniture. We combine peaceful design focus and intuitive storage to create spaces of calm contentment.

For any fashion connoisseur, dressing rooms are luxurious and exciting spaces. These rooms are especially engaging and fun to design, incorporating stowage for every accessories and item of apparel, completely to our clients requirements.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms are at times overlooked as a room of utility. Minerva offers fitted or freestanding furniture designs, transforming this space into a tranquil setting you can unwind and luxuriate in the steamy comfort of a hot bath. Vanity units merge the opportunity for beautiful furniture with effective storage. Minerva can also produce shelves, cupboards and panelling for any space, and project manage your entire bathroom remodel.

Libraries and Studies Whether displaying an impressive book collection or getting down to business, Minerva can realise the design aspiration of our clients. We can create a design out of a wide range of quality materials, incorporating many clever storage options, to offer a space you can relax and savour your pastime. Alternatively we can create a study with the perfect blend of architecture and utility to impress your clients or induce inspiration.

Freestanding Furniture Minerva can craft bespoke freestanding furniture to any design or to seamlessly blend with your existing Minerva products. Whether it’s a dining table to compliment your new kitchen, or a dressing table for a newly fitted dressing room, we can design and produce it.

Fitted furniture Daily life dictates that we require storage, why not take the opportunity to make an elegant statement whilst taking care of the problem. No home is the same size or style, alcoves for example call out for a fitted solution. Shelves, cupboards, and window seats to name a few, can be designed to our clients exact specification.

Stair coatings An oak flight of stairs can offer elegance, character and value to your home, however fitting a new flight of stairs can be expensive, messy and disruptive. Our stair coating service uses your existing stairs, which can be coated in a selection of materials to achieve the desired design. During your free consultation we will survey your stairs to ensure they are structurally able to take the modifications and explain how the transformation will be performed.

Panelling Distracting the eye from a featureless wall or adding tasteful period elegance to your home. Panelling can be designed around any space, either matching existing or around new designs. Panelling can be finished with a vast spectrum of colours or finishes designed to highlight the intriguing patterns of your selected timber.
