WHO World Breastfeeding Week 2017 In light of WHO World Breastfeeding Week 2017, Medical Students of India (MSAI), Rotaract Club of Caduceus (RCC) and Indian Medical Association – Students’ Wing (IMA-SW) worked with 29 volunteers comprising of students from MIMER Medical College and BSTR Hospital from 9th August to 15th August 2017 under the guidance of Dept. of Obst. & Gyn. They aimed at creating awareness about the importance of early and exclusive breastfeeding practices and its techniques. In the end, we were able to the team interacted .

Celebrating " Menstrual Hygiene Management " Week ( 28th May to 4th June 2017)

As per the directives of V.C. MUHS , " Menstrual hygiene management " week from

28th May to 4th June 2017 was celebrated to create awareness about menstruation &

related hygiene by arranging various activities in the department .

Posters were put up in OPD from 28th

May 2017 till date.

Educational film was shown in the OPD for patients & relatives from 28th

May

to 4th

June 2017.

Educational skit was played by Interns in the OPD on 02/06/2017.

Education talk for the Medical & Nursing students was arranged on "Menstrual

hygiene” by Dr. Meenakshi Surve on Friday 02/06/2017 at 2:30 pm at Anatomy

Lecture Hall.

A Talk by Dr. Vaishali Korde , Professor OBGY regarding Menstrual Hygiene

on 02/06/2017.

A motivational talk was given by Dr. Gopalghare, Assoc. Professor OBGY to

the students.

Educational skit for the students was arranged at the Anatomy Lecture Hall by

the Interns.

Students & Patients expressed their gratitude for the information as it is

practically helpful to them. Few patients expressed that their whole outlook

towards menstruation & related social taboos in our culture is totally changed

after this.

A microteaching session was conducted in the department of Obstetrics &

Gynaecology on 24th January 2017 and 30th January 2017. Which was presided by

Dr. Sushma Sharma, Dr. Vaishali Korde and faculty members. The lecturers Dr.

Jaya Barla , Dr. Meenakshi Surve, Dr. Priya Karmani, Dr. Janki Mane and Dr. Aditi

Saini had prepared and delivered lecturers on various topics of Obstetrics &

Gynaecology using audiovisual aids . It was an enlightening session where in a

constructive feedback was given about the improvements to be made in the

teaching technique. The core skills of microteaching such as presentation and

reinforcement were taught so as to help the teachers learn the art of teaching at

ease and to the maximum effective extent.
