PRESIDENCY APPLICATION AIESEC MONTENEGRO

Page 2: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

Dear , My name is Miloš Šdepanovid and I am a proud member of our beloved MC TEAM. During my academic schooling, I have been constantly developing my knowledge in different areas of economics, law and international relations. Many international sales, teamwork, management, macro-economics, human rights, leadership, public policy trainings and seminaries organized by NGOs, companies and institutions, such as European Commission, Campus15, Amnesty International, Nestlé and N.A.T.O. have made me a really stubborn MCVP F&BD with strong interpersonal skills. During my activism in AIESEC, I have and will continue on doing my best to make AIESEC Montenegro a force of social change and youth development in Montenegro – the VOICE OF YOUTH. – “I strongly believe true success could be achieved only through hard work and self development.”

Being a part of the world’s largest, most impactful student run organizations, gave me an in-depth understanding of teamwork and performance optimization. With my team, I’ve succeeded to overcome multiple complex problems while @MNE was being founded in 2013., and acquire practical skills applicable in both personal and business life. Besides visible improvements in self-discipline and decision making, this experience provided me with the opportunity to think more critically. After we opened @MNE, my work started in OGX. Being a team member of OGX helped me realize the true value of AIESEC. This is where I first saw how people develop and change through our programs. It really amazed me! With 20ish active member at the time, our LC realized 8 oGCDPs witch statistically makes my contribution of 1 oGCDP equal to 12% of the total realized oGCDP experiences delivered in 2013. In February 2014., AIESEC Montenegro entrusted me the responsibility of leading finances on the LC level as the LCVP Finance. It has been a challenge ever since and I thank my friends for giving me this honor. I successfully tackled this challenge with the help of my mentor and took financial stability of LC to a whole another level. The result? During these 3 months, with the help of all teams, the NET Value of AIESEC Montenegro has increased by 160,85%. After seeing that the youngest member (THAT WAS ME!) of @MNE can boost the financial statements of the whole organization, I decided to go further. In May 2014. I applied for the MCVP Finance&Bussines Development. NOW LET’S GO TO CHAPTER YEY!!

The the process of transferring my vision of @MNE being the most relevant student run organization in Montenegro to my AIESECers resulted in a successful application and the happiest and most exciting year of my life started. In period of 6 months I have witnessed love, humbleness, values, teamwork, joy, passion, life-changing experiences, hard work, recognition and most importantly the feeling that AIESEC Montenegro is my family. The dedication and love we give to our organization every day has resulted in ways not even the most ambitious members could foresee. I am honored to say the key MOS of my MCVP term was the true creation of MC+EB family. We have managed to bound in so many different ways and once for all agree on where we want to go. We have proved that love, passion and work are enough. We have proved that we can change our surroundings and that we can influence on our future. We build our future. Other MOSes: • Achieved 575% of my term goal (23.000 EUR out of 4.000 EUR in revenue and receivables) • Montenegro Youth To Business Forum (fought and won) • Enterprise, Government, University, Faculty and NGO partnership delivery • Sustainable finance with international modeling Finally, I am a part of AIESEC’s GLOBAL FINANCE AND LEGAL BOARD, auditing and consulting finance in 8 Balkan entities. Here, I understood what “global” in AIESEC really means. I am honored and grateful to be the first Montenegrin who has ever visited AIESEC International. We wouldn’t be on the map if it wasn’t for our passion.

Team! What is the key functional axle of AIESEC in Montenegro? Organization! Which is our unique way of delivering the positive impact? Personal life! What does balance even mean? Taking into consideration the mentality of Montenegrin, the nature of volunteer work and time AIESEC consumes, I will list key bottlenecks and solutions in following 3 categories.

1. TEAM: • BOTTLENECKS:

MOTIVATION (What is AIESEC doing for its members? How do they evolve?)

COHESION (How do MC+EB lead by example? Why are we a family?) PERSISTENCE (The art of NOT GIVING UP) CREATIVITY (How to maintain the creative environment?)

• SOLUTIONS: COACHING&MENTORING SYSTEM TEAM MINIMUMS MONTENEGRO COMPENDIUM MONTHLY TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITIES INSPIRING LEADERSHIP SESSIONS (Keynotes) SHIFTING WORKING ENVIRONMENT MEASURABLE RESULTS OF WORK IN EVERY FUNCTIONAL AREA MICROEXP TLP TRACK CLEAR ORGANIZATIONAL ROAD (TM-TL-VP-LCP-MCVP-MCP and projects)

Page 6: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

2. ORGANIZATION: • BOTTLENECKS:

VALUES (Members do not understand why is AIESEC special) PRODUCTS (Members do not understand products) UNCLEAR STRUCTURE (Members do not see the whole picture) GOALS (Members do not see what MC+EB see) OUR WAY OF DOING THINGS (Members losing touch with organizational

culture) EXTERNAL (Sabotage, cutting of the funds, losing a project, economic

crisis)

• SOLUTIONS: CONFERENCE (National conference/Integrations with foreign chairs) EDUCATION MICROEXP (Most adequate way to teach AIESEC values) COACHING&MENTORING SYSTEM DECISION MAKING (Involving members in brainstorming process of

MC+EB) GOAL SETTING AND MOTNHLY TRACKING TEAMBUILDING PROJECT&PRODUCT BASED FUNDRAISING (Gov. support as the least

important source of income) INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (Balkan!)

Page 7: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

3. PERSONAL LIFE: • BOTTLENECKS:

BALANCE (How to do everything on time and be happy? Business, job, AIESEC, University, personal life?)

KNOWLEDGE GAP (How to keep up with all the current information?) RELEVANCE (How to stand out in the network as an MCP?) ROLE-MODEL (How to sustain the pressure of being a role model?)

• SOLUTIONS: TIME MANAGEMENT (Everything broken down into daily goal setting) NETWORKING (Using FLB, EXPA, FB and Podio to further develop my

AIESEC network) USING THE NETWORK (Using the network to stay up to date with all

global and local initiatives) PERFECTING PROFESIONAL PROFILE (Learn, learn and learn) BRANDING MYSELF (Online promotion of my professional profile) QUARTAL TRAINING SESSIONS FOR ALL MEMBERS (Like “Total personal

mastery”, “Total business mastery” or “The science of NO”) AVAILABILITY (Having time for my members) RESON (Maintaining my reason intact/No bad influences) INVOLVING AS MUCH PEOPLE IN DECISION MAKING

Every one of us has had a watershed experience at some point in our lives. For some, it is the moment when they entered school, graduated, fell in love, got a job or even started a family. Some people have even had more than one experience which changed their lives forever. Do you remember the moment when you decided to be successful or live a better, healthier and happier life? Do you remember what influenced you to make that decision? Well, there is something I have to share with you, dear. My lifetime goal is to influence others and create as many of these experiences as possible - for others, for youth. I have never had a tough life, that’s a fact. I come from ordinary upper-middle class family. My family never had problems supporting me. They have taught me that in order to change and bring positive vibes to life, one must love and work hard. The only difference between me and others who come from similar families is that I never underestimated how hard life can be. Every morning I get up thankful for another day and every night I evaluate what positive change have I brought today. After I set my life direction, came my second milestone. I have entered University and started AIESEC. Should I even talk about this? Are there enough words in the world to describe how AIESEC helped all of us reach things that seemed unobtainable? AIESEC is my second family. My beloved MCP, the dearest teamsters from MC, the most amazing, warmest LCP (I love you Kat!), our brave LCVPS and TLs, and most importantly, the heart of our organization – our members. You all helped my reach amazing heights and I can never be thankful enough.

Page 9: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

Honestly, my third milestone in life was love. I loved and have been loved unconditionally. True love pushed me forward in hard times, never letting me to give up. It showed me how great I can be. It taught me to share, consult, laugh and grief. Love made me tough as diamond and soft as Dormeo pillow. Love helped me reach in to the true nature of people. I have never felt more grateful and thankful for everything I have in life. I know that the love I feel will always be here to push me forward. Everyone who knows me also knows my dream of becoming a serial entrepreneur. It is my lifetime goal to bring new values to different markets. To meet the needs of thousands and millions of people. To employ. To gift. To teach and lead by example. To inspire… All of my life goals and knitted with values of AIESEC and I feel this is the only true way to achieve success in life. With love, work, respect and equality. MCP term will help me understand the needs of people. It will help me understand how can I move an entire organization to the desired future. It will help me create new jobs for people and make their lives easier. My family taught me that in order to love others, one must love him or herself first. In order to understand what sharing love means, one must know what love is. My role model is the future version of myself. My role model is not here in physical sense but you can feel him in the air. I feel my future self-coming here by every breath I take. I can feel the man who changed a nation. I can feel the man who employed thousands and brought bred on the table for those in need. I can feel a man who is not a leader, but creator of leaders.

Page 10: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

Herby I am making a promise not only to current, but to every future AIESEC member. These are my term goals.

3 PERSONAL GOALS: • Never surrender • Live and lead by example • Be the greatest version of myself

3 PROFESSIONAL GOALS: • Never procrastinate • Build a global network of AIESEC leaders • Start my own company

AIESEC GOALS: • GAIN FULL MEMBERSHIP UNTIL IC 2016. • DELIVER 100 OGX EXP UNTIL FEBRUARY 2016. • DELIVER 20 ICX EXP UNTIL FEBRUARY 2016. • DELIVER 100+ MEMBER EXP UNTIL FEBRUARY 2016. • DELIVER 200+ AIESEC EXP UNTIL FEBRUARY 2016. (CONFERENCES AND

PROJECTS) • RISE 30.000 EUR UNTIL FEBRUARY 2016. • RUN A SUCCESSFUL YOUTH TO BUSINESS FOR 160 DELEGATES TWO TIMES • HAVE A LOCAL AND NATIONAL OFFICES UNTIL JULY 2015. • REALIZE PARTNERSHIPS IN ALL SECTORS OF BD (SME, NGO, GOV, CORP.) • MAKE oGIP PART OF GOVERNMENTS PROGRAM FOR YOUTH EMPLOYMENT • MAKE AIESEC THE VOICE OF YOUTH

Page 11: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

Montenegrin people are not the hardest working one. The youth procrastinates and does not want to work on their personal development because it is hard. We had a problem that our members could connect with AIESEC values. We thought that, as we did, everyone will eventually say – “Oh, I am an AIESECer so I should work on devoting myself and contributing to AIESEC”. Boy were we wrong! What was easily spotted is that none of our members knew what was his or hers development path through organization. Our members couldn’t see what was happening on decision making level and started thinking that this level is isolated and that their opinions are not heard. This has to, and is going to be fixed ASAP! We are to work on discovering personal interests of each and every member. To motivate them to work on developing their own career. We are there to guide them and help them realize their true leadership potential. There were an obvious malfunction in our system. We were too busy growing that we couldn’t see that our members, who carry this organization on their backs were crying for help. We are now to guide our members, to cherish them with love and affection, because they are our children We are to help them realize that AIESEC truly is the force of youth change in Montenegro. With fresh idea, fresh leadership style, member and customer oriented approach we will achieve our long time ago set goal and prove to be – THE VOICE OF YOUTH. We are to develop though experience. An AIESECer can only be a leader once he creates another one.

Page 12: Milos Scepanovic MCP application

Montenegro is going through a really unique period in its development as a country. Our country is in the center of transitions from East to the West. We are a part of a very historically unstable area, Balkans, so our leadership is also thinking about joining military alliances. Economically, our country suffers from lack of production and export. We are, in fact, a country of tourism and natural beauties, but is that all we know to do? I feel that the only problem in making the transition from import to export oriented country, from rags to riches, is the lack of global mindset and bad attitude of Montenegrins towards work. AIESEC has the opportunity to grow because of this changing demand of our society. Our products are the force that can open fresh perspectives to all people in Montenegro. The happiness and joy that we feel when working is contagious. We love our work. Our biggest satisfaction is a happy customer or an EP. We laugh, fall in love, think alike, work alike, dress alike. The positive energy that we have. We are to spread this “I LOVE TO WORK” attitude to everyone we can. We are to change how Montenegins are perceived as lazy and unmotivated people. We are to show the whole world how worm and welcoming we are. We are to show to the global plenary how our EPs still wear Montenegrin flags everywhere they can because Montenegro feels like home. Because… Montenegro is your home.
