As summer approaches and the days are getting longer, we’re looking forward to springing into a new season of great drama, music, comedy, poetry, jazz nights and even a series of films.

The Dugdale Centre’s intimate studio space will play host to a season of outstanding theatre. Vamos Theatre Company will return with the funny and fearless masked performance Finding Joy and we have an award winning new play from Emma Jowett, Snap. Catch. Slam.

For the first time the Dugdale Centre will be staging two Greek events: a modern day version of Aristophanes’ play Wealth, a political satire on contemporary Athens, and stand up comedian Paul Lambis is sure to keep you entertained with tales about growing up in Cyprus.

Our season of jazz and poetry continues to flourish with Ziggy’s World Jazz Club, The Sunday Edition and Jacqueline Saphra, and we’re screening classic films from across the world with cinema group, Talkies.

At Millfield Theatre local talent takes centre stage. Saint Monica’s Players will perform the hit musical Our House featuring the ska pop genius of Madness. The ever popular Haringey Shed return with two brand new shows and future stars from Performers College will showcase their dance and choreography skills.

Don’t forget, for those people who like to plan ahead, we not only have a series of events in October to celebrate Black History Month, including Stephen K Amos, but the ultimate London pantomime, Dick Whittington is now on sale too… oh yes it is!

That man turns out to be the demigod Wealth who is, contrary to all expectations, a blind beggar. Chremylos is convinced that if Wealth’s eyesight can be restored, anything wrong can be righted, making the world a better place. Something wicked this way comes...

Following our huge success in 2011, when we performed The Tempest at the Millfield to packed audiences, we are back to wow audiences with our interpretation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Working in collaboration with Daniela Essart from Scarabeus Theatre, our performance will be a spectacular mix of traditional and physical theatre. We, the children in years 5 and 6, will be producing, designing and performing this unmissable show, as well as working alongside the Dugdale staff running the front of house. We can’t wait to welcome you.

The whiplash, double-pronged Chungking Express is one of the defining works of nineties cinema and the film that made Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai an instant icon.

Two heartsick Hong Kong cops (Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung), both jilted by ex-lovers, cross paths at the Midnight Express take-out restaurant stand, where the ethereal pixie waitress Faye (Faye Wong) works. Anything goes in Wong’s gloriously shot and utterly unexpected charmer, which cemented the sex appeal of its gorgeous stars and forever turned canned pineapple and the Mamas and the Papas’ California Dreamin into tokens of romantic longing. (Cantonese with English subtitles).

THE SNAIL & THE WHALE28th & 29th SEpT 10aM & 1.30pMQ aT MILLFIELD THEaTRE“How I long to sail,” said the tiny snail…

Tall Stories (creators of The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on the Broom) are proud to present their latest collaboration with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

A tiny snail longs to see the world, so she hitches a lift on the tail of a huge humpback whale. Together they go on an amazing journey, experiencing sharks and penguins, icebergs and volcanoes. The little snail is amazed by it all, but starts feeling very small in the vastness of the world…

Then disaster strikes – the whale becomes beached in a bay… Can the tiny snail save the day?

Created in Tall Stories’ unique style, The Snail and the Whale combines physical storytelling, live music and lots of laughs.
