I liked it so much I bought another one!

It’s a Friday night in late October 2010 in Jaipur, our new distributor launches the Miller quick coupler to its customer base there through cooperation with a forward thinking Darpan Goyal, a local construction industry entrepreneur who was one of the first in Rajasthan to recognise the value of equipping his machine with a Miller quick coupler. Since doing so he likes it so much he has ordered another and sees his demand for the Miller product continuing long into the future. During the evening product launch Jacqui Miller took time out to interview Darpan and here is what he had to say…

Hi Darpan, firstly a huge thank you for the faith you showed in the Miller quick coupler when you ordered your first unit, what made you convinced that you should try this new product?

I was introduced to the concept and was astonished by the claims they made regarding what the Miller quick coupler could do. If it could indeed enable my machine operators to change between a rock breaker and bucket in less than one

minute then I had to try it. In my work (Darpan is one of the owners of Jaipur based Goyal Stone Crusher) my machines need to break rock and load it, so a product that would enable me to do this in such a short time was indeed a fantastic asset to my business. Since installing the Miller quick coupler I have seen productivity increase with this excavator dramatically.

So when did you advise our distributor you were happy with the results?

After almost one month and extensive use I called and we agreed the deal, I told them that as soon as I order my new machine I want a Miller quick coupler installed before I take delivery! I have since received a new Hitachi EX200 complete with a new Miller quick coupler.

How does your existing machine operator like the Miller quick coupler?

He is so very happy now and can’t believe how easy it is to operate, also how much more productivity he can achieve as a

result of this fantastic new product.Would you consider installing Miller quick couplers to all your hydraulic excavators in the future?

I am looking at installing a Miller quick coupler to my Kobelco SK350 as this is my primary production machine, then possibly to all new machines in the future.

Are you aware that the Miller quick coupler is capable of doing many tasks on the same site in the same day that would normally require two or maybe three machines, by simply adding more attachment options when you buy your machine initially?

No, I was not but I am very interested to learn how I can become more productive. I look forward to hearing about it and trying any new attachments Miller offer through my local distributor

ON THE ROAD TO MORE PROFIT

The f i rst MILLER coupler of RAJASTHAN region was sold to M/s VARAH INFRA LTD., JODHPUR who is one of biggest road contractors of Rajasthan state and is a fleet owner of CAT Excavators. We introduced the concept of quick coupler technology to the customer through our local distributor at EXCON 2009 in Banglore and the customer was very impressed with USPs of our coupler’s utility to convert his excavator in to a multi-tasking machine. The Customer was using a rock breaker on one machine

and using his other machines with buckets. Now after fitting the Miller Coupler the customer can use the same breaker that was originally designated to one of his machines only with buckets as well and by installing more couplers in the future he recognises he can then benefit from maximum versatility across his entire fleet. Return on investment is usually around 12 weeks through the added productivity you will enjoy when installing the Miller coupler to your machine, thereafter you make more PROFIT per machine through additional

efficiency; can you afford not to install a Miller Coupler? The Customer is very happy with the Coupler and its ability to utilise so many tools and carry out so many jobs with one machine that he advised the Distributor for RAJASTHAN that he intended to recommend this fantastic product to another road contractor RAVIvery INFRA who has since also placed an order for his CAT 320 excavator as well.

A revolution on the Job siteAfter initially watching the LIVE demo of the Miller Quick Coupler in action at EXCON 09, construction company, Supreme Infrastructure based in Mumbai ordered 5 Miller couplers. They knew that the Miller product was what they wanted for their machines but had to wait until work had picked up before making the investment into this technology.When we approached Supreme, a very forward thinking company, they told us that they would like to install Miller couplers onto all of their excavators eventually (12 in total). Since their purchase and installation of the quick

couplers they have been delighted with the many benefits they now are able to enjoy through the versatility of the coupler. The company added that the operators love the product and quite frankly now we have them on our excavators we wonder “how did we ever manage without them!” I would have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic invention to anyone who was considering it for their machines and those machine operators who have not yet thought about this technology they should do so, it is so productive and pays for itself within a matter of months…

Since the installation, he has been so impressed with the overall performance of the coupler that he is now helping our distributor to sell more couplers within his region. customers who can speak with Mr Thomson directly for his personal recommendation and experiences with the product, an excellent method of understanding firsthand what a customer/product user thinks.Once you talk with Charlie he will convince you that it’s the one of the best investments he has made for his machine and that anyone owning an excavator should have one!!!

After trying a Miller coupler he was extremely happy with the benefits and excellent product quality. Thinking all couplers were the same, he then decided to buy a competitors coupler as it was cheaper and as this customer found out through

his own experience, IT IS NOT TRUE.Within no time of using the competitive local brand he returned the competitor’s product as it did not meet the standards set by the Miller coupler. He now has 4 Miller couplers in his fleet and will continue to specify and order Miller for all his machines in the future.

Safety FirstBP Sangle Associates (a contractor in the Nasik region) has now installed Miller couplers onto all five machines of its fleet. The main reason for this decision was an accident which occurred to one of their machine operators when working on site and manually changing from a bucket to a different tool, (Rock Breaker). During this very dangerous process his finger was severely injured. BP Sangle Associates were very alarmed at this and as a caring employer wanted to reduce the number of possible

incidents that occur on site through this type of situation... Now that they are using Miller couplers, not only is the changeover process quicker between bucket and rock breaker (approx 47 seconds versus an hour spent wasting time during the manual changeover process) but it is much safer for those working with the machinery .A really useful example of the additional safety benefits that Miller Quick Couplers offer as well as all the efficiency and productivity gains.

A Sign of the TimesThe magic of the Miller MPG Quick Coupler is now casting its spell across the country as more and more contractors and machine operators are realising the significant benefits they can realise by installing this truly versatile product to their machines. An article published in The Times of India newspaper details the works carried out on the LALBAUG flyover, a 200 metre narrow bridge in Mumbai. Contractor MATTE ASSOCIATES secured the job but then had to work out how they could complete the task within the scheduled time, the authorities had allotted only 25 days. Then in stepped the approved Miller

Distributor for the Mumbai region and their solution, the MPG Miller Quick Coupler. The machine owner was convinced immediately and welcomed any new technology that would allow him to not only complete this job ahead of time but to be able to offer all his future customers a service with a difference through being able to do more with one machine. He was so convinced that he requested that the quick coupler be flown in from the UK and it was then immediately installed. As a result of this, he manage to finish the project ahead of schedule.
