The Brewing ProcessThe ingredients malted barley, corn, hops, and yeast are delivered to the brewing factory

Malted barley and corn mix with water, and it’s called mash

It is then pumped into a mash tun, and the heat converts the starches in the grains to fermentable sugars

The mash stays in the mash tun until the correct sugar content has been produced

The mash is pumped into the lauter tun, which separates the solids from the liquids

The liquid is called wort, and it is pumped into the brew kettle where the hops is added

The wort is sugared and spiced and is then boiled for one hour

The wort is then taken from the brew kettle and it put in the fermentation tank

Brewer’s yeast is added to the wort

As the yeast grows, it duplicates and converts the wort’s fermentable sugars into alcohol

The Brewing ProcessThe fermenting process takes about 8-10 days to complete, with the fermenting tank cooled and the yeast removed upon completion

After the fermenting process, the fermented wort is officially beer, but it needs to age, so it is put into a aging tank so the flavors begin to blend and mellow at ice-cold temperatures

Skilled brewmasters determine when the beer is aged enough so the flavors are balanced

Once the beers are aged enough, they are pumped from the aging tanks, through a filter, to the packaging release tank

Then, the beer is pumped into a bottle, keg filler, or can

All the cans and bottles are heat pasteurized

Miller Genuine Draft, Miller Genuine Draft Light, and keg beer go through a process called cold filtering.

The beer is then sold to wholesalers and distributors

The beer is then put on trucks and is vended to supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and liquor stores that are licensed to sell alcohol
