However ,they did not use control cows at the same t ime.Connal ly (4) and Joer in and Bowering (10)arenear agreement , report ing ranges of 11.3 to34.6 ug/ 100 ml and 1 to 75 ug/l O0 ml of in-creased iodine in milk. The difference betwe enthe products , extent of appl icat ion, and designof experiments are probable reasons for thevariat ion between s tudies .

    The exp eri ment involving t incture of io-dine to th e skin, coup led wi th th e gradual in-crease in milk iodine in ot her stu dies, indicat esthat iodine is absorbed into the cow's systemand secreted into the milk.
