Welcome Back
We have started Term 4 off well, from day 1 the students have been busy in the classroom. I am pleased that they have all returned happy and safe.
Care Package for the Troops
Milbrodale Public School is supporting this great initiative by Singleton Rotary Club. Please place any donations in the box in the staffroom by Fri 21st October, 2016. More information can be found in this newsletter.
Sunglasses
Last term an order form was sent to parents for purchasing sunglasses for the students to wear while in the playground at school. I have not received many orders. If you would like to order these sunglasses please have the order in by Friday 21st October. Please find the order form attached to the newsletter.
Aboriginal Culture
We will be participating in Aboriginal Culture again this term at Broke Public School each fortnight on a Friday commencing this week Friday 14th October. Please meet at Broke PS at 9am.
Author Talk
We will be travelling to Singleton Public School for the author talk this year on Friday 21st October. Katrina McKelvey (author) and Kirrili Lonergan (illustrator) will share their beautiful book, “Dandelions” and the ideas behind the story. Please find a note with further information attached.
Intensive Swimming
We will be having a week of intensive swimming from 7th November-11th November. More information will be provided closer to the dates.
Kinder Orientation
The Kinder orientation program will be run in the classroom every second Thursday commencing Thursday 20th October. Any children starting Kindergarten in 2017 at Milbrodale school are welcome to attend. If you require further information please contact the school.
Jump Start
The year 6 students will be participating in the jump start program at Singleton High School over the next few Thursdays. This provides them with a positive start to Year 7. This program is on Thursday 13th Oct, Thursday 20th Oct and Thursday 27th Oct from 9.30-12.30.

Please bring in the 5c challenge tins by Friday 21
st October so we
can start counting the money. Thank you to all the wonderful helpers who assisted to make the Family Fun Day a success. The amount raised was approximately $3,300. That is a fantastic effort, considering the poor weather
conditions.

We are on again. Singleton Sunrise Rotary Club is organising Care packages for the Troops in Afghanistan and the Detection Dogs as well. Below is a list of needs.
Our aim is 200 boxes. Please help support our troops who protect us.”
Suggestions of what you might like to include:
Toiletries • Deodorant (non aerosol) • Shaving cream (non aerosol) • Small bottle of talcum powder • Disposable razors • Shower Gel • Lip Balm • Perfume samples (non glass) • Toothpaste and tooth brushes • Listerine strips
For Female • Hair bands and bobby pins • Hand cream • Face cleaning wipes • Face moisteriser • Cotton buds • Female sanitary products • Scented roll on deodorant • Small packs of tissues
Food o Instant Noodles o Biscuits o Lollies o Small tinned consumables • Non-perishable foods • Pkt soups and • Xmas cake and puddings that are heat shrinked.
