Company Overview

Business Interest – Milan Farms Dominicana, S.A. Milan Farms is developing a Mango Orchard and a Plantain Farm in the Dominican Republic, (200,000 plus Indian Mango Trees) in the Region of Bani – Considered one of the best areas to grow Mangoes in the Caribbean and among one of the best areas in the world. Mangoes planted in the farm consist of two popular varieties known as Kessar and Alfonso.

Milan Farms has acquired about 1900 acres (approximately 12,228.10 Tareas) of land in Bani, Dominican Republic and has prepared almost 60% of the land for planting purposes. Around 25% of the total land area is planted to Mangos and Plantains. An “irrigation system” is in placed which supplies the water requirements of the farm. Likewise a Nursery has also been set up in the farm where more than 100,000 trees (both mangos and plantain) have already been planted and stems have been undergone grafting process in the case of the Indian Mangos to Mother Roots. The bud sticks comes from India which are covered with permits from the Agriculture Dept. of the D.R.

Milan Farms as to this date has already invested over $4,700,000.00 USD into this project.

Milan Farms vision is to grow the best quality of Indian Mangos, and therefore has worked very close with the Department. of Agriculture and other agencies of the Government of Dominican Republic to make this possible. Milan Farms has hired well experienced and talented Agronomist and advisors to oversee the growing stages of the trees and to ensure that the mangoes are organic and of high quality.

As of April 30, 2014, Milan Farms is already on its second harvest for the Plantain, while mangos are just starting to bear fruits, and should be ready for a partial harvest in the couple of months.

Milan Farms is now in search of qualified distributors in different geographic areas who are willing the distribute Milan Farms Indian Mangoes.

Meanwhile, planting of mangos and plantain is continuing, with the hope that before the end of 2014, Milan Farms have planted at least 60,000 more plantains and 30,000 mangos.

As experience showed, plantain is in demand even locally. Buyers are in fact offering to pay cash right in the farm site upon loading of the produce by buyers. On the other hand, mangos are also in demand. The likes of Frito Lay among others as an example enters into an contract farming agreements with farm owners, to make sure that supply of mangos to the company is uninterrupted.

Milan Farms interest includes Farm Development and Management, and Export of quality mangoes and plantains, besides Farm ownership.

Foreword

Milan Farms has given an insight not only of the future of Mangoes and Plantain crops in the market place, but also to provide its clients the birds-eye-view of the plans and programs of Milan Farms Dominicana, S.A. (herein referred to in this document as “Milan Farms”), through the leadership of Mr. Nagin Rana.

Mr. Rana has acquired a large agricultural land in Bani, Dominican Republic, home for most Mango Farms in the country and one of the world’s known source of mangoes. It took almost three (3) years for Mr. Rana to secure a title to his land which is about 1,900 acres or approximately 12,228.10 tareas. The titles are free-and-clear.

From the day the property was acquired by Mr. Rana, the development in the farm started without any financial assistance from any banking institutions either in the D.R. or overseas. Mr. Rana has relied on its personal resources to fund the development, construction and acquisition of construction and farm equipments. The equipments have been brought to the site. A large warehouse was constructed and an irrigation dam was put in place to provide water requirements in the farm.

Twenty five (25%) percent of the total land area is planted to Mangos and Plantain. Harvest for plantain is on-going. On the other hand, mangoes will be due for harvest in a couple of months. Meantime, planting of both mangoes and plantain is continuing.

Mr. Rana will continue to expand the development of the farm and possibly acquire farms adjoining or close in proximity with his property. He will continue to hire agricultural engineers and agronomist to professionalize the development and management of the farm.

Milan Farms USA on the other hand will act as its marketing office to handle the export of mangoes and plantains. So far plantains are sold locally as the price and demand appears to be attractive.
