� MIIM Exchange Platform, 16th March, 2016, Berlin
� MIIM team has successfully conducted the “Exchange platform” event to provide an overview
of MIIM’s first 6 months to all relevant stakeholders
� The event was attended by >100 participants including various German and Indian
government organizations, associations and of course Mittelstand companies
� Key highlights of the first 6 months of the MIIM programme are:
– Since its inception in September 2015, MIIM Programme has enrolled 43 companies
into the programme - out of which 26 companies have concrete investment plans
– MIIM Programme is supporting declared investments of EUR ~400 mio in different
stages leading to the creation of app. 3,500 new employments in India
– The investments will result in setting up of 15 new manufacturing plants, 6 expansion
projects and 2 pilot projects covering the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and
Tamil Nadu

� India Union Budget 2016-17:
� The Union Finance Minister of India Mr. Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget of India to
the Parliament on February 29, 2016; key highlights of the budget 2016-17 relevant to
German companies, particularly the Mittelstand are:
– As part of the “Skill India” mission, it is planned to set up 1,500 Multi Skill Training
Institutes across the country with a fund of EUR 226 mio. The target of the mission is to
train 10 mio youth over the next three years
– With a view to promote Make in India, foreign investors will be accorded residency status
subject to certain conditions, unlike currently where the investors are granted business
visa only up to 5 years at a time
– Ensure early passage of the Goods and Service Tax bill and Insolvency and Bankruptcy
law
– In the earlier budget, Government had mooted proposal to reduce Corporate Tax from
30% to 25% over a period of four years, accompanied by rationalization and removal of
various tax exemptions and incentives. A final plan of phasing out exemptions is
proposed in the current budget.

� 4th MIIM Workshop:
� The 4th common MIIM workshop on “Taxation and Company Incorporation” has been
conducted on 23rd February 2016 at Berlin – 28 participants attended the workshop
