Reading 1: Read the following Online Guide and answer the questions below:

1. Jidhafs is the largest city in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is located in the

Northern part of the country. Around 11,000 people live there. Jidhafs is

famous for its gold shops.

2. Jidhafs has two seasons, Summer and winter. The summer months start

from April to September and the winters from October to March. Summer is

really hot and humid, while winter is mild and cloudy. The best season to visit

is winter, due to the outdoor activities held in the city.

3. Things to do and to see:

• You have to visit AlMusharf mosque. It is one of the biggest mosques in

Bahrain.

• Make sure you go for a walk in the flower garden, there are a lot of exotic

plants.

• Do not miss shopping in Jidhafs market, there are varieties of shops, such as

gold and fruits shops.

• Be sure to visit Al Shabab club, where you can play football and basketball.

• You must try Bint AlDera Café. The best in town.

• You should go sky diving in Sky Jidhafs and see the city from above.

4. Jidhafs is one of the oldest cities in Bahrain. I think the best thing about it is

the people’s kindness and the worst thing are the traffic jams.

Last week I finished my final exams. My family and I decided to go on a road trip

to Kuwait. I was happy and excited. I packed my bag and prepared some snacks

for the road. Suddenly, a big truck appeared in front of us and my dad couldn’t

stop the car. Therefore, we crashed into it. It was horrible but I’m thankful for

being alive. I learnt that we should be careful while driving.

UNIT 2 -People-

Post title: Worst Birthday Ever! Date: 12/6/2019

Two days ago was my fifteenth birthday. It was a bad day from the morning.

I overslept and missed the School bus. When I arrived to class, it was 8 o’clock and

the exam had already started. After the exam, I was relieved and ready to go home,

that’s when I realized I forgot the house keys at home. This was the worst day ever.

I think today’s lesson is to always look at the bright side.

Yesterday was the happiest day ever. I had lunch with my friends in AlAbraj, then

we went to the library and I bought five books. I was really happy and I couldn’t

wait to go home and start reading. However, I slept late because I couldn’t stop

thriller film. You can watch it in Netflix at any time. The director of Bird Box is

2. This film is about a mother who must find the strength to flee with her two

children down a wild river in search of safety. Due to unseen deadly forces, the

risky journey must be made blindly.

3. The main characters in the film are Malorie and her two children. She is a strong

and determined woman, who saved her two children. She is beautiful with long

straight brown hair and small brown eyes. The two children have strong senses

and they obeyed Malorie’s instructions.

4. I recommend watching Bird Box, because it has an exciting story. I think the

idea is extraordinary and creative.
