MicroSurvey FieldGenius Local Transformation Day 1

- Use this method when you have known points in a non-geodetic coordinate

system (example: from a CAD drawing).

- Use this method when using a Base/Rover Set up

- Stored points will be scaled to ground

- Distance checks using an EDM or other method will not need be scaled

1. Open up your job and connect to your GNSS reference

2. Pick the GPS Mode Button

3. Then pick “Local Transformation to Point”

4. Pick on “Start Reference”

5. Under Average Geodetic Position it will have the current position of where the base is set up (Note the Lat/Long and Ellipsoidal Height).

6. Under the Local Transformation section select the point that you want to match up with this position from the database (1 – it will automatically fill in the northing and easting).

7. Then press “Set Position”.

8. Store this position in the database and give it a name so you know which point it is. This is important if you ever want to come back to this job site.

9. Configure the radio settings for the RTK link. Then press “Connect”. Notice on your base if your RTK link is now enabled.

10. Disconnect from the base using the “Instrument Disconnect” button.

11. Connect to your rover. Select the rover from the pre-configured instruments

12. Configure the radio to listen to RTK link from the base. Press “Connect”.

13. Pick on the observations toolbar to see the current position of the rover. Also Notice measurement button change to RTK fixed when the tolerance is received.
